"Quaint stay in Springfield, VT in a 1904 built mansion which is a National Historic Landmark. Wonderful room in the attached hotel adjacent to the mansion. The rooms were beautiful and the mansion itself had a coffee & drink station in a beautiful reading room complete with grand piano, 1920s-era music, and a library. The property is quiet but close to the downtown. It's a 12 minute walk to the downtown area. The Copper Fox is a must try restaurant. The atmosphere and experience can't be beat....

"We have stayed here on multiple occasions, and overall we would recommend the INN ON THE RIVER to anyone wishing to explore and experience the Woodstock/Queche Vermont area. The atmosphere and decor of the inn is topnotch. There is some maintenance/upkeep work to be done on the inn's exterior wooden structures, especially at the back of the inn facing the river (re:sanding and re-staining). Also, the breakfast is lacking a fresh fruit mix assortment (melons, berries grapes, etc). Otherwise, the breakfast is quite good and well-prepared."

"Property beautiful. Rooms very large. Staff very friendly. The only thing that was odd to me was none of our closets had rods to hang clothes on. We were going to a formal wedding, my husband had a suit and I had a long dress to hang up, but the closets had no rods, and we had 3 closets in our room. Had to hang the suit from a door handle and the long dress from the shower rod!"
