Today it’s best known as the Gold Mountain Manor, a wonderful, historically maintained Bed-and-Breakfast. The original builder family invested in the early West Coast Movie Business and their sprawling 25 acre ranch Main House sufficed to keep the ‘who’s who” of Hollywood away from public eye. The current day Manor rests on an acre. It’s authentic "ranch-style" Log Mansion is an example of early 20th-century luxury architecture. CHARMING. As first time Bookers here, we were ‘Internet Skeptical’ but that was laid-to-rest the moment we drove up and was greeted by one of the owners, Darrin. Located on the North side of Big Bear Valley in a quiet area tucked slightly inland from the water’s edge of beautiful Big Bear Lake. The 7,000sf mansion exudes common areas large enough for entertaining. The main room grand fireplace is built from quartz mined from Gold Mountain. Looking closely, you can see flecks of gold embedded. Of the current day 7 Suites, we chose the Cozy Pine with its modernized rustic feel, a tree inspired 7 foot poster bed, a slate-surrounded jacuzzi tub for two, remote-controlled fireplace and in-room TV and Coffee. ........ continued on next review ......"

"The rooms were not cleaned, the sheets and blankets were not washed, carpets were dirty and stained, there was dog hair all over the couches and beds, there was trash under couches, beds, chairs, and dressers, the pots and pans were greasy and sticky, and the pillows were all stained and stiff."

"Cabin wasnt ready when my check in was at 3 pm and I got there at 2:50, owner was still there doing the cleaning and stuff. Very old beds wayyyy to small Everything is old NEEDS ALOT OF MAINTENANCE!! And lastly Owner wanted US to wash all the blankets and towels but we’re not there to do all that. That’s why we paid to stay and not do the laundry and clean the whole house Very old house Sofa bed was super hard to put back The oven/stove does work but the knobs were super tight and hard to turn it on I don’t really put bad reviews but this one was a must and hopefully who ever wants to rent this place Please read my review before you rent this places "

"The property was clean and in a lovely area. It was close to local shops and places to eat perfect for a quiet getaway. It appeared that the property was still under construction a bit, and a few surfaces were unfinished and a few things didn’t work perfectly, but that did not disruptour stay. The property is beautiful as a and everything we needed was available to us. The most enjoyable part of the property was the large living room and open kitchen concept. It was great for a family to enjoy a weekend."

" I am writing to provide feedback regarding our recent one-night stay at your property during an extended trip to Big Bear. Overall, we found the accommodation to be pleasant and conveniently located. We had requested an early check-in, understanding that this is subject to availability. However, we observed that housekeeping staff appeared to be completing their work closer to 3:30 PM. Consequently, we received the access code around 3:52 PM, just eight minutes prior to the official 4:00 PM check-in time. While not a major issue, it made the early check-in request effectively unfulfilled. Upon settling in, my uncle attempted to use the television in one of the bedrooms but found it inoperable. When I immediately contacted your team for assistance, I was informed that the remote control was missing and that a replacement could only be delivered the following day. Given our scheduled 11:00 AM check-out time, receiving a remote at that point would have been impractical for our brief stay, so we politely declined. Another point I wished to raise concerns the trash disposal policy. We were informed that guests are required to transport their trash to an off-site disposal area, which was approximately a 19-minute drive from the property. This was an unexpected and somewhat inconvenient requirement, particularly for a short, single-night stay. Despite these minor points, the property itself was comfortable and well-maintained.
