"We decided to take a little road trip to explore parts of the Oregon countryside we hadn't visited in the 50+ years living in Oregon. We saw some good reviews for the Celilo Inn so we gave it a try. Truth be told, I'm a bit of a princess when it comes to lodging. I am fussy about cleanliness and comfort. I was a bit leery of Celilo Inn due to it's age and nature of being a "motel". An old motel at that. It did not disappoint. The great reviews I read were indeed still true. It is very clean, in very good condition, bed was comfy, lots of pillows, lovely view of the Columbia River and The Dalles Dam, nice little patio, and staff was very friendly and helpful. Perfect place with the perfect price. It's a weird entrance, but that was the biggest negative. One last mention.... the website mentions wine passes and wine reception, but that's not a thing any longer. "

"Very impressed with a medium size fridge with nice freezer, and outlets with USB plugs near bed and around TV counter. Although I appreciate the upgrading of the room and conscientiousness of utilizing LED lights, the selection of daylight light temperature for the fixtures is overwhelming. I found I could not turn on any lights in the room except for the standard bulbs in the toilet/shower area. It would also be nice to have a towel bar or hook next to the sink area. There is nowhere to hang a towel in the area. Despite these concerns it was a nice stay."

"Friendly staff & clean"

"Interesting experience. There is no on-site staff, but the building is in excellent (restored) condition. You let yourself in with the door code and then you’re on your own. The on-site restaurant is not operating, so we drove a couple miles for dinner. We made breakfast from what was on site. Thankfully there was no noise from the railroad outside. We’ll be back."
