"Great location between train station and downtown and ferry docks to Portofino, Fruttoso, etc. We based here to explore Cinque Terre, Portofino and Santa Margherita Hotel features an excellent gym, helpful and engaged staff, clean rooms, solid WiFi and seems dog friendly. The property is well maintained and looks much younger and hipper than the 20 years it’s been around. I’d definitely would stay at LHP again. Did not try food or drinks, but breakfast was 30 euros per person."

Overall, the place served its purpose — it was clean, quiet, and in a good location about a 15-minute walk down to the oceanfront restaurants, shops, and beach. "Amanda at the front desk was extremely helpful with information on navigating transportation and parking. Parking is close by, about 2 blocks away. Very secure with individual stalls with doors that lock. The breakfast that was included may be the best breakfast buffet included by a hotel by far. I would rate it a 10. With a view of the harbor, we would definitely stay there again."

"Wonderful location, a lovely view and a warm welcome. But! Let's be honest! The rooms are small, poor sound proofing and any hotel charging €100+ per night should provide a proper bed! Not a metal bed frame (almost a camp bed) with a thin low quality mattress! After the first night of an uncomfortable sleep Reception said they would put 'another mattress topper' on the bed. They use a duvet, which is not a 'mattress topper'. On top of this there are 2 paper cups as the only drinking vessels provided and the plug sockets are 3 pins, first time I have seen that in Italy. So plugging things in is challenging. Breakfast is nice enough, lovely view. They obviously want you to eat and drink in the restaurant, which is fine but occasionally a drink on the balcony would be nice and they don't even give you more flimsy paper cups each day! They disintegrated within a day from a couple of uses, cleaning teeth etc!! It's a nice location, I think some odd cost cutting decisions have been made which give it a 'Budget Ibis' feel in my opinion more than comfortable hotel. I imagine Ibis have better beds!"
