Staying on a ship with an interesting history was a refreshing change for us. It was an easy walk from central station, and an easy walk into the city centre and old town.

As always, its the people who are important and make for a decent stay. Although there was no 24hr reception, there was a phone which put you straight through to a very helpful person. All good.

Loved the authentic Viking ship experience. Loved that they let us go to the top of the ship. Staff seemed a bit brusque and didn't speak any English, pushing us to leave exactly 11am when ill, having made us wait to change to the new room for the longest possible time. Very late check-in compared to the early check-out

Great hotel for my short trip. Only downside was being unable to get into my room on the second day. A quick call got the card reactivated so only a minor problem. Room was comfy and a good size, clean and tidy. Breakfast options were very good, from meats, cheese ect to cereals and yoghurts. I'll definitely return to Gothenburg and I'd definitely stay here again.

Funny house

Here you get a two for one deal! Both a room and amusement park funny house. Floor extremely sloping and no bother to adapt the legs of the bed. Feet 5 cm higher than the head and sideways slope far worse so that you have to struggle against rolling over. TV some very old stuff with a separate receiver - of cause not working.

Nice hotell. Little shabby but charming. It is a big boat, but sturdy and safe. Comfortable. Carpets in the corridors need to be cleaned or better changed. I wish carpets were removed from the rooms, I am allergic to wall to wall carpets ‘cos they collect dust and produce a tiny fractures of synthetic cells in the air, and I don’t want to breathe that. Breakfast is simple and boring, I stayed there from Wednesday to Monday and it was same boring breakfast every single day, no sausages, no bacon. Cold eggs from yesterday, jams, 3 types of bread, a toaster, old stiff cucumbers and tasteless tomatoes, one cheap cheese. But hotel was very quiet and relaxing.

The place is not as advertised on Expedia, and they either need to update the description to properly reflect what is on offer, or stop offering this place all together. For a start there is no toilet or shower in the room, it’s all shared, and that was not what I wanted in the slightest, again, not mentioned once throughout the booking process. It’s a really old ship internally, and is in desperate need of an update in all areas. The toilets absolutely stank, and the showers were old, filthy and rusted. The check in process is done by using a really old phone, and the person on the other end needs a lesson in the basics of customer service. This is without a doubt the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, and it should be closed down for serious updates and repairs.

Here’s what you need to know: -the price reflects that this is not a fancy place -the ship lists hard to the side, which can be jarring -there is a decent basic breakfast -the shared bathrooms don’t look great; pay a little more to get your own bathroom I’ve stayed here several times because it’s a budget place I can stay while I’m in Gothenburg alone or with a friend. I expect that if the price is significantly lower, there’s a reason, and I accept that. Check in is weird the first time because you’ll do it via their land line, but it’s actually pretty easy. The breakfast person was super nice and attentive, too.

Well where do we start , first of all on arrival check in is a joke , no one speaks English and just about speaks Swedish. Had to wait for our room to be ready for us, staff unhelpful and lack of staff working. When we booked our stay we see that there was supposed to be tea and coffee in communal areas and there's nothing. Not even a vending machine to get a drink. There is also supposed to be a Bar and restaurant, but that was closed without any signs. The upper deck outside is closed to guests. The whole ship is dirty and in desperate need of renovation it just looks like a complete mess. The so called breakfast buffet is a joke, very limited to what you can get. Please do not book a stay here , you will be very disappointed, we were 😡.

Zuerst das Positive in Kürze: - 4-Mast Schiff mit schönem Ambiente - Bus + Straßenbahn + Linienboot Haltestelle in der Nähe - Altstdt ca 20 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar Nun das Negative: - Zimmer war bei Ankunft nicht komplett aufgeräumt - Decken Paneele waren kaputt - Absturzsicherung am Etagen Bett oben hat gefehlt - Frühstück war okay, aber Eier schmeckten seltsam - Etagen Toilette war schmutzig und Klopapier hat gefehlt - öffentliche Parkplätze in der Nähe sind sehr teuer

Frukosten var väldigt skral, dåligt utbud och låg kvalitet. Små flugor på rummet. Receptionen obemannad största delen av vistelsen. Ingen restaurang/kiosk/bar vad vi kunde hitta. Ingen städning, soptömning eller byte av handdukar på hela vistelsen. I det som kallas gratis toalettartiklar fanns en pumptvål på väggen. Väldigt slitet och nedgånget överlag. Kommer aldrig någonsin återvända dit eller rekommendera någon att åka dit. Finns bättre ställen i samma prisklass!
