"I called and messaged ahead of time that my flight is delayed so I will be checking in late. When I arrived the hotel was closed and was locked up- gate had a huge ped lock. We couldn’t get in. We had to find a different accommodation. Very disappointing. Want my refund back."

"If you aren't looking for luxury, First Landing is a good choice. The property is large with a variety of room types - our studio-style bure was not fancy but the room was spacious and airy, the bed comfortable and the shower hot. While the resort is slightly on the shabby side and could benefit from a bit of polish throughout, it is absolutely clean and respectable and we felt it was good value. It doesn't have much of a beach...there is access to beach frontage that is good for walking, but it is fairly narrow with only a couple of loungers and it gives onto a shelf-like reef that is exposed twice a day at low tide so ocean swimming is not really practical. It also has access via a bridge to a man-made islet called the "Left Foot" that is pleasant to walk around, especially at sunset, and there are kayaks to rent. The pool is large with a variety of shade and sun. With many families, mainly from New Zealand and Australia (given it is only a 3 hour flight from Auckland and 4 hours from Sydney), expect kids in the pool and an assortment of kid-noises until bedtime. We experienced a few minor operational anomalies that one simply has to accept (e.g. an apparent rule against having more than one bath towel per room occupant at a time!). However, the staff is incredibly friendly, personable and helpful - they are clearly happy in their jobs and are never at a loss to say "bula" with a smile. And the food is uniformly excellent (expecially the Indian dishes)."
