The Gem in Graaff Reinet
Beautiful decorated rooms. Attention to detail you will find in the room and on the property. The food at the restaurant was also very good. Staff very friendly. Will definitely stay there again.

What a wonder place to rest after a long drive. The rooms are huge with stunning en suite bathrooms. The bed is huge with crisp white linens. Loved the complimentary snack platter and wine. The surrounding property is beautiful and the restaurant and bar setting is just perfect. The food is delicious. I could have stayed eating breakfast for hours. Overall the service and the property is totally worth it. Wish we could have stayed longer. P.S. It's pet friendly and load shedding proof. Thanks guys!

In my previous message I didn’t realize we were upgraded, room is very nice and spacious. Did receive the complementary wine only after asking 2 times, which seems strange. Nibbles were okay. Check in procedure seems long and awkward. Rom for improvement.

This is one of my favourite hotels in South Africa. The lovely heritage building is the biggest charm, and added to that is the friendliness of the staff, overall comfort and excellent kitchen. Moreover I was for the most part served in my language Afrikaans. Thank you Drostdy.

We had a lovely stay in the Drostdy. It's a lovely hotel, staff are friendly, and the service is professsional. The manager arranged for a room upgrade once they became aware that I enjoy VIP privileges; this was much appreciated!

Queit luxury in the midst of history
Lovely, very comfy room with aircon (much needed!) and super bed. Bathroom was lovely but the water sometimes only came in trickles (supposedly due to load-shedding!). That made showering difficult at times. Gorgeous gardens, outdoor seating areas, lovely lounges and bar area. Restaurant is very comfy and stylish and food was excellent. Would love to come back!

A wonderful stay at the Drostdy
Stopped at the Drostdy for the night on the way to Johannesburg and what a treat it was. The staff are friendly the rooms are lovely. Decor is good rooms are huge and very clean with everything you could need . Had a lovely complimentary bottle of wine and snack platter waiting in the room which was a nice touch . Dinner at the hotel was fantastic as was the breakfast. Next time I visit I will be sure to spend an extra day or two and enjoy the pool and spa.

Definitely 5 star with friendly and helpful staff, excellent accommodation and facilities. Beds very comfortable with two tvs for different viewing. Bathroom spacious. Parking secure on-site Booking included breakfast however not clearly explained this was continental breakfast not cooked breakfast when given menu so charged extra R200 pp.

Very good traditional hotel of character, with fine library and ancient bar. Indoor and outdoor dining, and good choice of interesting food.. Good service with friendly staff. The water in the pools was not clear, and not nice for swimming.
