"Our stay was very relaxing and the staff was friendly and hospitable. Breakfast was ok as some items were not fresh or warm upon our arrival. Also thought that there could have been more variety and options for breakfast. Even though there were many close by food outlets , I would still like to recommend a bar and restaurant on site. Overall my husband and I enjoyed our stay and felt comfortable and relaxed in our room."

"The room was okay, the staff where reserved, unfortunately the pool didn't look clean and the front foyer needed some work. The dining room was big and spacious. I could see a wedding reception being held there. The transportation guy was great!"

"Shalom House was decorated to a high standard, clean and homely. The room has a keypad to unlock/lock the door so there is no need to carry a key around. It was spacious with aircon, a comfy bed, fridge/microwave/kettle which is nice to have. They provided a delicious fresh home cooked breakfast with a variation of foods each day we were there, as well as fresh juice and fruit, cereal tea/coffee. The staff especially Liz were wonderful and so lovely and friendly. Breakfast is served by the pool and was a delightful way to start the day. We didn't actually use the pool during our stay, other than to dip our feet however it was clean and lovely to look at. The area Shalom House is situated in is an affluent one which is also gated and entry coming and going is through a 24/7 manned gate making you feel very secure, although honestly we had no concerns anywhere we went within Trinidad & Tobago during our stay. Communication with the owner was good, and response time to queries was quick. We would highly recommend a stay at Shalom House for the reasons outlined and its close proximity to the airport. We would be happy to book a stay here again whenever in Trinidad."

"The sheets were dirty. When I opened the faucet in the shower, brown dirty water came out. The room smelled liked it just got sorayed with a generous amount of Baygon. Although the location is good it is definitely not worth it."

"Runway is a HORRIBLE run down decrepit place. The ONLY nice part is the food/ bar area and the bartender as well as the Manager were aces. Polite and service with a smile. My room had mold in and around the bathroom, the ac wasn’t working And the front desk supervisor/manager is VERY unprofessional and condescending. She needs a position out in the back somewhere because clearly she’s a… (I can’t say the word) I had my do not disturb sign. Yet someone came in and my earrings grew feet and walked out with the housekeeper. Nothing became of it because that manager danced all around and was at one point hiding from me as though she’s 6yrs old. I would. NEVER EVER stay in that run down shack. Neither would I recommend it. The front desk ladies were pleasant and professional. Also the gentleman that was at the door. They made my stay a little earlier. But that manager’s attitude is JuST as stink as the hotel. It needs a whole revamp not just the building but that manager needs to go… Actually demolish is a better choice than revamping. "

"Positives: decent size mini fridge and microwave. Both came in handy. Negatives: No table or chairs in the room or in the porch. Booked for 3 persons but there were only 2 towels (staff was very friendly and efficient in providing additional towel). Some restaurant menu items were obviously overpriced. Limited access to the pool as this is a shared facility with a swimming club that had scheduled classes most of time."
