"I would give Plaza Marbella a 4/5. Overall, it was a really good stay, mainly because the staff was very helpful and friendly, and the pool area was nice.
That said, there are a few things that could be improved. Some areas feel a bit outdated and worn, and the kitchen was very basic – it could use a few more essentials (even a kitchen towel would help). The balcony was often covered in bird droppings, and it didn’t seem like it was being cleaned regularly, even just the table.
The pool area is enjoyable, but adding umbrellas or more loungers to lay on would make it even better.
Despite these small issues, we had a great stay and really appreciated how helpful the staff was."
"Staff was super friendly. Breakfast was always delicious. However no housekeeping or replacement of towels the entire week I was there. No hot water in the shower and no tv in the room."
"This hotel is not worth the trouble. After booking I contacted them through WhatsApp. We confirmed my room and some excursions they would set up.
When I arrived they gave me a room next to the pool that looked nothing like the pictures. The first floor was loud with booming music that made it sound like one of the cheap shoe stores in Managua. Someone at the pool was playing different music thst was even louder so I asked to be moved.
They moved me to the third floor and you could still hear the music, quieter but still to loud if you wanted to sleep before 10pm when they turned it off. That room had a bed and a bed table but no other furniture and the only window looked into someone else's patio. The entire week I was there I had no hot water.
I didn't receive instructions for my excursion so I tried contacting them several times. The night before I still hadn't received instructions for where to meet at 6:30am so I went to the front desk and asked.
They had no record of my reservations. I showed them my WhatsApp messages and they said there was nothing they could do. I threatened to cancel my stay and find a different hotel so they booked something last minute. I did change all of my other excursions to other companies.
You do not get what is pictured online. All totaled it was a very poor experience and not worth the premium they charge. I met other travelers that were staying at smaller, much nicer hotels nearby and paying much less. "
"Beautiful, well kept property. Conveniently located in the historic center, yet peaceful and quiet with rooms around the inner courtyards. Many nice restaurants nearby."
"Location was good. A few blocks off the beaten path, and kind of a rough looking area, but don't worry. Locals are very friendly. Pool was nice and cool and clean. Shared kitchen was a plus. Room got really hot since AC was only in one portion of the unit. Staff is friendly and place is good for the price. Lots of international clientele. Helps a lot that we are fluent Spanish speakers, don't think much English is spoken "
