"We've always had good luck staying at La Quinta's in the past and this was no exception. It was a little bit higher priced than some of the other hotels and motels in the area but I've stayed in some of them in Palestine Texas before and they were pretty nasty so this was a welcome change to have a decent clean place to stay. They did not have a handicapped room available but they offered me a shower chair to use in my tub and it was ridiculous it was twice as wide as the tub it didn't fit in there there was no shower sprayer and to make matters worse the shampoo and conditioner bottles were permanently bolted to the wall in the shower but it was the wall behind me and I was supposed to be sitting in a chair with a back on it needless to say I had to stand in a take a quick shower without the chair and it was quite miserable. See the attached picture. The free breakfast was typical Hotel free breakfast there were reconstituted scrambled eggs and sausage I believe there was biscuits and gravy and things like yogurt Bagels toast Etc. Definitely not Gourmet but it was fine and it was free."
"Room was clean, A/C worked great. I wish there was an extra blanket in the room since my husband likes the room cold, I like it a little warmer. An extra blanket would have made me a little more comfortable. I didn't see breakfast so I dont know if it was served or not. Bed was comfortable nice pillows and not those small flat ones."
"Every staff member was friendly and helpful. We were asked by more than 1 employee if we needed anything to make our stay better. Our king room was comfortable, and the AC got very cold, which was nice! We would definitely stay here again."
"This was the most breath taking experience. The lake view is absolutely beautiful and we even got to see several deer frolicking around the property and even on the drive up to the property. It was so peaceful and the amenities were very accommodating. The boathouse is beautiful to just sit and watch the lake even if you don't fish or use the kayaks. It's family and pet friendly too. There's swings and a fire pit and a grill and an outdoor eating area on the porch. I would recommend bringing groceries rather than leaving the property due to the unpaved roads, but you will not want to leave anyway :-) Highly recommend this experience."
