I phoned to say that I would be late for final check in (10pm) and Alexandra, the lovely lady on the front desk, made sure I was checked in dignity and made me feel so safe about arriving late. This was my second time visiting The Swan for work trips to Blyton Park track. Couldn’t recommend this B&B enough. Perfect for solo female travellers."

"Checked in for 1night as we travelled to attend a family funeral, upon entering the room the curtain was shut and the smell of mould of very overpowering. Opened the curtain to be greeted with alot of black mould all over the window the curtain and underneath the table, i spoke to staff on reception about this as my partner has chronic asthma and they moved us rooms very helpful. We moved rooms and went straight out to eat as we had been travelling all day, we went back to the room later on to notice this room also had mould in a broken window lock and a broken table, body hair left in shower! Spoke to the main desk again and they offered us a new ropm it was 11.30pm and we had to be up crack of dawn for a funeral! I saod no the room will do for 1 night as we were so tired, during the night it was so noisy people shouting. Spoke with the manager the next morning and was given a full refund as 2 rooms were disgusting. Staff were helpful but hotel is outdated and mouldy, pictures do not match reality it was like a place they house ex cons!"

"A really friendly greeting at reception, with helpful guidance. The room was of a very high standard, clean and fresh, with a good supply of tea, coffee, biscuits etc. Beds were comfy, only niggle was that the extra pillows provided were really lumpy. Extremely helpful staff in the breakfast room, very courteous and friendly.There was a good selection of hot food for breakfast, and a lovely selection of fruit, sweet melon slices and fresh fruit salad. We had taken our dogs, and one little warning for other dog owners is that the grassy, wooded area for walking dogs has a lot of deer ticks, so good idea to check dogs after walking. We enjoyed our stay and the use of the pool. "

"We loved everything the the cave hotel offered,this time we only had a one night stay and our last stay was quite a while ago but on returning we certainly where not disappointed it was special we had our evening meal with them and that was wonderful we couldn’t take breakfast much to our disappointment it our room was really clean and welcoming really quite special as was everything about the CaveCastle Hotel Well done to every member of staff"

"Good breakfast. Stayed in the family room which was very large. Pool area is very poor unfortunately. Lots of missing tiles on the bottom of the pool is quite dangerous. A child from another family cut his foot whilst walking on the pool. Restaurant OK. If you need somewhere to stay for a hundred quid or less, then this place is fine. Don’t expect anything fancy though. It must just be clinging to the 4 star rating, felt very much like a 3 star."

"We had a lovely stay overall and would definitely come back. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the staff were really friendly and welcoming, and the food was great. Breakfast was especially gorgeous and a real highlight. There were just a few things that took the shine off a little. The toilet wasn’t as clean as we’d have expected, and the bath drain seemed blocked, so the water backed up while we were standing in the shower. On the Friday night, there was also an incredibly noisy group in the restaurant who were clearly disturbing other guests, but no one seemed to ask them to calm down. We could still hear them later in the bar and even up in our room. That said, we did really enjoy it and would love to return, especially if those little issues could be sorted next time."
