"Two night stay visiting friends who were staying In Sawbridgeworth. The receptionist Maisie was extremely helpful by arranging a local taxi for our friends - the cost was substantially cheaper than an Uber. The room was very good but no air con, just a fan, and the wifi did drop out from time to time. Breakfast was very good and again staff very pleasant and helpful. We would stay here again in the future"

"Booked a room for two nights at The Beechwood Hotel but a few days before our trip was offered a free complimentary upgrade to an apartment, with parking, which we accepted. Very close to the station and more than ideal for what we required. Even had a garden. Staff were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful."

"There was no AC. being a listed building makes it hard to install AC. the room was so hot it was almost unbearable. One sash window could only open about 20cm at the bottom, as secondary double glazing had been installed it was not possible to open the top part. The other window only opened at the bottom but would not stay open so staff put a cushion there to keep it open. They gave us another fan which helped. Because of the heat in the room we could not close the curtains at night as that would hinder any ventilation and outside lighting was very bright. The beds were very comfortable and a sheet was provided so we did not have to use the duvet. We had requested a twin room but this was not provided till the following day. the staff were very attentive and welcoming."

"Having stayed on one of hottest days of year the air conditioning in bedrooms was extremely welcome and efficient. I thought uk king size beds would be standard in hotels. Not used to a double bed but it was clean and comfortable. Bathroom spotless but struggled to access the shower over bath as you had to step in onto slope at end of bath. If you have even a minor disability then try to get an accessible room.. The pool was a good size and well maintained as was gym. Good sized pool towels. Breakfast varied and plentiful and staff friendly and helpful. Expensive parking. Would have been good if discounted for hotel guests. However these were personal niggles and it was a good value hotel and we would not hesitate to stay again."
