"Hotel is very pretty. Room large, pretty and comfortable. Well designed, but with some modern annoyances - can't use fake card key. Desk clerk very friendly and helpful (Arthur). Own secure outside parking area with gate that is closed at night. Restaurant good, but may not belong to hotel. Internet connection blocks ssh. We have junior suite, which is quite large and very nice. Hotel fronts on canal, and view is fantastic. City is very pretty from this viewpoint. Breakfast good. Thermostat appears to be only decorative. I like this place a lot. Definitely better than the usual 4*."

"What we liked most is that it was not some new, polished place. It was a simple room, clean and comfortable. They had a gravel parking lot. As I said, it was older and simple. It was well managed and maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful."

"As others have commented the staff are great. But the rooms are beyond tired. Very noisy too.but a great location."

"Easy to find. Lots of parking.Felt secure and well lit at night. The most warm and efficient welcome Beds and pillows very comfortable. Good soundproofing. Very good value breakfast. Ate next door at The steakhouse..Excellent steak and ice cream."

"I arrived a bit early after riding my motorcycle all day in the rain. The owners welcomed me in, got me some hot coffee and some snacks. Two of the kindest people you will ever meet. The rooms are immaculately clean and well appointed. I highly recommend. "
