I have stayed in several miserable places around the world and consider myself low-maintenance when it comes to lodging, but this has taken low-maintenance to a new low.
There has been little to no investment in keeping this rebranded Super 8 up, but as the only place nearby I'm sure it continues to generate cash for the owners.
To their credit, my bed was new and comfortable, but otherwise every single aspect of the physical building was in very poor shape. The smell of smoke permeated the carpet. The bathroom, while clean, featured cracks, a lifeless fan, and threadbare towels. Breakfast consisted of two cereals, pairs of white bread wrapped in cellophane and a waffle-maker.
