"The hotel was charming, the room an adequate size, bed was comfortable, the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Wi-fi worked well and there was free parking. The restaurant dinner meal was beautiful and breakfast very generous. I would highly recommend this hotel."

Keswick Country House Hotel
"This hotel is in an excellent location in Keswick and the staff were very helpful. The bar area was large and relaxing. However, the room, apart from the carpets, was tired and needed refurbishment. There was a black mould around the wooden windows. The shower unit was yellow with age. Even the toilet ..."

Crown and Mitre Hotel
"It would have received more stars for maintenance however the lift was unserviceable therefore I couldn’t give higher marks. Everything else was excellent"

"The two issues we had were - Hotel staff very noisily recycling empty bottles at 5:50am the first morning waking us both up Bedroom blinds weren’t very effective at keeping sunshine out and bedrooms were very light by 6am"

"Very pleasant small property. 5 mins walk from central Ambleside. Well equipped and warm. Perhaps a bit small for a family of 4 but great for two people. Nicely decorated with thoughtful touches. Only one parking space but a car park 4 mins walk down the hill. Would recommend."

"There's no question that the apartment is dated but it was clean, warm and there was hot water. The kitchen equipment needs refreshing (no utensils like a fish slice or slotted spoon) but we managed fine. It's really the details that need addressing - we had a lamp without a bulb and the bathroom ..."
