Why do they keep your 200$ security deposit for four days when they know that your room was left in perfect condition hours after you left, can make it difficult for people on a budget

Hi Cory, Thank you for staying with us in Grimshaw. I understand your frustration but per our policy we release deposits the day of check out on all reservations. Unfortunately, banks have different policies and depending on if you're travelling during the week or over the weekend that can also affect the return of funds to your card.

We entered the room and tried to open the curtain. One side fell down. Tried to lock the bathroom door, doesn’t lock. The ceiling is paper thin and we could hear people walking upstairs all night long. The hot tub is broken. It’s a very expensive hotel for so many things to be wrong.

Hi Nick, sorry to hear you weren't comfortable during your stay. Our 24hr Front Desk would've been more than willing to switch you rooms if we were made aware while you were here. Our hot tub hasn't been operational for years, nor is it advertised anywhere as being so. Thanks for staying with us!

Property is older but we’ll kept. Mattresses were comfy and the rooms were spacious, the kitchenette was a bonus. The breakfast had quite a few options and of course the kids loved the waffle maker!

Pool was not available, bed was cheap pillows even cheaper blankets cheapest I've seen in a hotel. Staff was rude (night desk attendant ) hand made sighn for parking lot not allowing us to park our moving truck anywhere near the hotel. We had over 300 thousand $ in merchandise in truck and was forced to park in unsafe location made us move it even before we could check in. Tv didn't work properly. Would not recommend to anyone

Hi Thomas, We're sorry to hear you were not comfortable during your stay in Grimshaw. Unfortunately the pool is closed very temporarily while we wait for a part for the heater that quit over the weekend. No Truck Parking applies to all Guests with vehicles over 1 Tonne, I can assure you your belongings were no less safe being a bit farther away from the Hotel. Our Front Desk team is available 24/7 for questions we're here to assist however we can. We do have some comfort convenience items, different pillows and blankets available upon request for our Guests. We hope to see you back in Grimshaw again!

Not exactly a dream destination but a good place to stop for a rest on a road trip. Quiet, clean, spacious rooms with comfy beds and pillows, kind staff - what more can I ask for.

Hi Regan, thanks for taking the time to review. I'm alarmed by your comment about blood. I don't see any notes from my team that you contacted the front desk to allow us the opportunity to provide fresh linen. We certainly would've swapped out pillows for you. We always aim to provide an incredibly clean accommodations and I am sorry we missed the bar this time. From time to time, especially in the colder months, smoke from nearby houses burning wood stoves makes its way into our building through the air exchange units on the rooftop. While sometimes unpleasant, I can assure you our fire detection systems are 100% in working order and are tested regularly to ensure the safety of everyone on site.

The hotel is in serious need of a face lift. Carpets stained, also with holes. Also all though the room appeared to be clean there was left over food in the fridge, MAC and cheese, chicken and half a pizza. Which was somewhat concerning although we made a bit of a joke about it.

Carpets in hallways were filthy and stunk. Rooms are basic and need revamping. Walls are thin enough to hear neighbors (but not what they say) - Room above us had what seemed like 100 kids with lead feet dancing at 7AM right through till 10AM. They charged $20 extra for my 5yr old lab to stay in the room and he was a perfect guest, yet these hooligans all stay for free; and when we complained they acknowledged the situation but offered no compensation or rate reduction. Clerk even told us they had other people complaining about these kids running through hallways and up and down stairs.

Coast Grimshaw use to be a great hotel, however, it needs some renovation to enhance the hotel, and the room. Our dishwasher was so load we couldn't run it that evening or the next morning before departure as it would of wake up everyone on the 3e floor. The curtains had hold in it, the bathroom was leeking, the shower was making very pitchy noice while running and furthermore our non-smoking room smell old like someone was smoking in it. Unfortunately, we were able to get an other room as it was full due to evacuation in the Northwest Territories. So we paid 150$ for this room, way to much for such of room.

Clean big room. No thermostat that I could see, though the temperature was comfortable for me. Breakfast in the morning was functional, but not great. Pool onsite was a huge plus, staff was pleasant and helpful. Would stay here again in the future when work brings me back to the area.
