"The hotel is very basic and feels more like an overnight stop for tradespeople and courier drivers than somewhere intended for a comfortable stay. The car park was full of white vans, which gives a fair indication of the typical clientele.
We arrived late and had to use the QR-code check-in system on the door. This was made difficult by the poor mobile signal in the area, although connecting to the hotel WiFi solved the problem.
The mattress was thin but pleasantly firm and reasonably comfortable. However, our triple room only came with two pillows, which seemed inadequate for three guests.
The WiFi was reliable throughout our stay.
Be very careful when booking, particularly if the room description includes “Shared Bathroom”. While this is mentioned in the listing, it is easy to overlook that there is no toilet or shower in the room itself. The room only contains a wash basin, with guests required to use communal facilities at the end of the corridor. There was just one shower and two toilets serving multiple rooms, and both were in a grim condition. The facilities were so poor that we left early the following morning rather than use them. I have stayed at several campsites with considerably better bathroom facilities.
We booked two rooms and one of them had a noticeable smell of body odour mixed with old cigarette smoke, which was unpleasant.
