"Our hosts were wonderful throughout our stay. Very helpful, kind and friendly. A beautiful location surrounded by farmland animals like sheep, cows, chickens and goats. Highly recommend to anyone. We will hopefully be back to stay in the tents for a big family holiday "

"We stayed for a short weekend in Norfolk, decided on this stunning hotel. Was welcomed nicely in by the reception desk staff, room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Woke up to a lovely breakfast buffet both mornings. The golf course was impressive to see, even though we don’t play it ourselves. Had our final evening at the bar which had lovely drinks menu and bar snacks. Young waiter who chatted with us was so polite and funny. The only downside was that the pool was closed for the weekend, would have loved a dip during this heatwave but nevermind. Would absolutely stay here again for our next Norfolk trip."
"When you stay at the Maids Hotel, the one thing that is fixed in your mind is “stairs” unless you can cope with stairs at every turn, this is not the hotel for you. This is because the hotel is a heritage building and it doesn’t lend itself to easy step free access. I had a single room on the 3rd floor to get to it from reception I had to go up a couple of steps and down a corridor to the lift up to 3rd floor, from there I had go up stairs, down stairs multiple times before reaching the room and even in the room I had to go down two stairs to get to the bathroom. The room itself was okay although careworn and cluttered with too much furniture ( 2 armchairs plus a bench seat under the desk) plus the safe was too small, you couldn’t fit an iPad in it. It needs a redesign to bring it up to current comfort standards and some night lights on the stairs down to the bathroom to avoid accidents at night. In contrast, the money seems to have been spent on the public areas which are well designed an a joy to sit in. The staff that interacted with me during my stay were professional, friendly and very helpful. I only used the restaurant for breakfast which was the usual buffet fare but with a Norfolk twist . It was well cooked and tasty. In conclusion it’s a hotel that is resting on its history, location an£ its well trained staff but it needs money spent on bringing its rooms up to 21st century standards of comfort within the constraints of its heritage building."
"Breakfast was of poor quality, lacked choice of fruit only grate fruit and prunes available and in short supply. While the full English breakfast had a good selection, the bacon and hash browns where poorly cocked."
"The air con was down everywhere except ( luckily!!) on our floor.
The hot weather and lack of aircon made the public areas really warm.
All the staff were really excellent!"
