Our second stay at Heatherlie, we love the close proximity to town, yet you would not know it was peak tourist season. The bush land setting and native fauna make the stay secluded and quiet. The cottage was clean and well appointed. Perfect home away from home accomodation.

Most comfortable bed ever !! After a relaxing spa bath, we had the best nights sleep for a long time. Very quiet and peaceful. A lot of wildlife right outside the cabin: kangaroos, blue wrens, kookaburras etc We loved this place, would definitely come back. The only thing we couldn't work out was the washer / dryer, but this was explained to us over the phone by the owner/manager

Basic but comfortable
The cottages are in a good position close to some bushland, however cottage 1 does not have any outlook to this, in between road and car park. The unit is basic with limited floor coverings so a bit cold. Other units have better aspect with some feeling of being in a lovely setting. Kitchen very good with basic amenities and supplies. About 1 km walk to town. Halls Gap and the Grampians are wonderful

Weekend away
We stayed at the cottage for two nights ,looked very nice and cosy and is placed in a quiet area.Bed was comfortable and was a king,so,plenty of room,a spa and huge shower,plenty of hot water.There was a gas log fire and air conditioning for heating and also electric blankets.Place was clean and tidy,but cupboards and drawers could have used a wipe out,a little bit of attention would go a long way.Overall,would recommend a stay,beautiful area,kangaroos roaming around in garden.😃

Very nice but garden needs a good prune.
The owner was friendly and helpful. The cleanliness was excellent. Lovely spa bath. The bush-land setting was beautiful and relaxing even though we were very close to the center of town. Abundant wildlife - a resident wallaby, a family of kangaroos and lots of birds including an owl. The garden needed a good prune - overgrown bushes and trees made inside of the cottage feel rather dark and closed in. Overall though, a very nice stay.

Was pleasant but disappointed by gas open fireplace and cold tile floors. Heating entirely by AC system. Was clean, tidy and private.

Relaxing winter break
Beautiful little cottage. Lovely and warm with a few little luxuries to aid relaxation. The spa and massaging rocker recliner were wonderful. The water pressure in the shower superb. Lovely birds coming to visit. Close to everything but quiet spot. Very satisfied. Perfect winter escape

Looks tired and not looked after.
Although located in a nice quiet part of halls gap, it is obvious upon arrival the place is not well maintained, the advertising sign is being held up by the rubbish bins, the lawn is overgrown, and the outdoor furniture is scattered around and dirty. Upon entry to the cottage it is appears old, the curtains need full cleaning, it is dark even with the curtains up. the microwave was dirty and we needed to clean before use. also the kitchen utensils need updating, cant recall ever drinking wine from dated champagne glasses. The couch is pokey and small, and there are no other comfy chairs to sit on.

Great stay - Grampians is one of the best places we’ve visited. Heatherlie Cottages brilliant for a couple, it’s a great place to unwind and relax while visiting this amazing part of the world.

Nice cottages
Stayed there recently and 6 yrs ago and very comfortable. Needs a little cleaning up outside and just a few neglected things for paying top price for the accommodation.

Underwhelming and overpriced
The cottage was clean and respectable on the inside. If you are planning to eat in make sure you take everything as there are simply hotel basics. Given it is a cottage suited to couples it would have been nice to have some general cooking supplies. The outside was run down and not very appealing. The lawns had not been mowed and the gutters were overflowing with debris. Not great during bushfire season!

Thanks, We got sick of throwing out good food, so stopped doing any provisions and dropped the price. Wine had to go to, sent a recovering alcoholic on a bender, ruined his life.

Very nice location. Walking distance to Hall Gap.
A very nice experience overall. Having the bed in the main living area was a bit different but didn't cause a problem. Nice front porch to sit under and watch the kangaroos go by. Much much nicer than a motel room.

These cottages are a perfect place for a get away. Situated in a perfect place just out of town so you are away from alot of the tourists. Also the rooms are set really well. Didnt want to leave.

Enjoyed our stay for our 20yh wedding anniversary, close enough to walk in to town to have a meal and look around. The only thing would be the ticking clock!!
