The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming - and we were even able to check in early. The place is in a nice quiet spot on a farm just a 15 minute drive from Hobbiton. Perfect location to stay if visiting there.

This is an amazing property perfect for a travelling family. Many lovely extra touches including heated blankets, toys, and a full kitchen. It feels like you have just stepped into the Shire complete with a very friendly host.

The views all around were amazing. It was great to wake up surrounded by sheep and cows. A short drive into Cambridge for delicious food. Only thing missing for was bedside lamps to read by.

The studio apartment was perfect for our short stay in the area. It was well appointed and so quiet. It was a short drive to Hobbiton for our tour and felt like we were already in the shire. We could easily drive to Cambridge for any meals or provisions. I recommend Kauri Lodge as a great stay in the area.

Shona welcomed us warmly and provided amenities for a nice breakfast. Her place is clean, spacious, and set in a lovely area surrounded by rolling green hills. We were sad that we had to leave early for the next stop in our journey and would love to visit again.

A Scenic Stay in the Shire

Had a pleasant stay that felt like it was nestled in the Hobbit shire countryside. Was conveniently located just 15 minutes drive from Hobbiton. Host was pleasant and friendly and met us upon arrival. And the stars at night were amazing! The first time I’ve seen the Milky Way in a long while.
