"We love staying at Stoney Creek! We have stayed many times with young kids over the past few years. It's a fun and nicely designed space with lots of woodsy charm. Good breakfast options. Lovely to be by the river.
Areas for improvement: The hall and out-front trash receptacles were really crammed during our stay. Rooms could use a good vacuum, especially under furniture. And the three pools/ponds at the front of the building are covered with algae and trash. Would be nice to clean them out or fill them in and landscape them. We remember when the pools/ponds were full of clear water and koi fish."
"There were vinyl floors in the whole bedroom. They were dirty and grainy and you could tell they weren't cleaned very well. It was a very odd feeling to wake up and put my feet down onto that.
There was a very loud train that ran right off the back of the property that blared the horn all night long.
The worst part was that our air conditioner was not working in the room but the hotel was completely booked so my sister and I got to share a box fan for the evening. The room was a humid 75 degrees... not pleased at all."
"The 1st thing you notice when entering to check in is that the place smelled like cigarette smoke. I guess they still allow smoking in the casino. Fortunately, I couldn't smell it in the room. The room had a mini-fridge that I used for leftovers, but there was no place to reheat them. I had to take them to the front desk to have them heat them up for me in the back. They should have at least 1 microwave on each floor by the vending machines. The leftovers was from their own steakhouse, which was very expensive, so I didn't want to just throw it away. I was told housekeeping would service my room on the 3rd day, but they never came after 4 days. They didn't have any towels by the pool, so I had to bring them from my room, then had to get fresh towels for my room when it wasn't serviced. The 1st night at the casino, I couldn't get a drink from a server and I don't like having an open glass at the blackjack table, which is crammed with strangers (I am a single woman traveling alone). Next night, I brought a Mt. Dew bottle with me, which security allowed me in with. After I began playing, the pit boss demanded the bottle to throw away. She didn't even allow me to take it back to my room! She just said "no outside beverages, we only sell Coke". I only chose to stay at the casino this time because I couldn't get an Uber or taxi to take me back to my hotel until 2am (waited 2 hours) the last time I visited. Never staying here again."

What are holiday rentals like in Hampton?
Holiday rentals are privately owned properties you can book for a few days, or a quick weekend, in Hampton. Holiday rentals offer amenities such as WiFi and washers and dryers so your stay will be comfortable. If you're concerned about a sanitised environment, a holiday rental can provide a sense of safety away from public hotel lifts and busy concierge desks while still allowing you to travel. You'll also get more space in a holiday rental than in a traditional hotel, which is another reason why a holiday rental is an attractive option for small groups.
