"We had a nice time staying here during the holidays. The lobby area was decorated festively, and there were free concerts each evening. The hotel is located in an area convenient to downtown Harrisonburg. We enjoyed the cafe and the full breakfast in the hotel restaurant. The art gallery on the mezzanine was also a nice feature. Two things that were a disappointment: the room had a funny smell. We wondered if it had been a pet-friendly room and a lot of bleach was used? The smell was off-putting. Secondly, the beds were surprisingly uncomfortable. Overall, we had a good experience, but some areas could be improved."

"Dropping my son off nearby to JMU. Room was cozy, and convenient everything was close by including the university. "

"Easy check in and check out, clean spacious room! Quiet peaceful stay with a balcony! Lobby is beautiful with a nice bistro bar. Highly recommend, would definitely stay again. "

"Nice, budget friendly, hotel. My biggest issue was the pull out bed. The sofa was worn and the mattress was brown around the bottom and edges. The sheets were very thin. My son described them looking like a wedding veil. That being said, the hot breakfast was very good. Every employee we interacted with was friendly and helpful. We would stay again but get 2 rooms. "

"It took four different rooms to find one that didn't have this horrible extremely strong smell. We had to open the window in the first room and then our sinuses burned and started coughing bad. I complained to the front desk and they had me check out three other rooms and the last room was the one we were finally able to accept even the girl said it's very strong smell and thought maybe it was a room deodorizer but it was not. We will never be able to stay at a candlewood again because she said that all places have that smell terrible and I'm sure poisonous. "
