"Everything was spot on: clean, well maintained, well equipped kitchen. There was a beautiful garden to use too. The hosts, Jon and Sara were lovely with plenty of helpful hints, advice and general information. I would certainly recommend!"

"Absolutely fabulous if you're looking for a retreat in the country side. Access to Bovey Castle amenities is a nice feature. Enjoyed air rifle shooting range and hawking experience. Cottage is charming and local pub is a very short walk. Driving to the cottage on narrow windy roads is a little challenging but totally worth it!!!"

"The advert on the hotels.com website did not match the facts of the stay. The advert states free parking it was not it cost me £30 for the stay. We spoke to the owner who stated that the advert was not placed by him. It was the fault of hotels.com as he does not use them you get your info from a 3rd party All I know is that I am £30 out of pocket. The stay was good as I can not blame hotels.com for all the rain."

"The bungalow was exactly as described but even better than we expected for a holiday let. A large open-plan and well-appointed lounge/diner/kitchen. The views from the site were lovely. It was quiet and there were several walks around the woods. The site is hilly so be prepared for some exercise! We did not use the pool but it looked very good from the outside. The grounds are well-kept and all the staff were first-class. The charity relies on volunteers and they do an excellent job. We...

"The location was excellent and the staff are very helpful, the room was nice and large but not very clean it looked old and tired, that said the whole place was showing it's age. On the plus side the food was excellent along with how quiet the hotel is, this ideal if you want to relax. We would go back again even though it had it's small faults."
TLH Derwent Hotel - TLH Leisure, Entertainment and Spa Resort
10/10 Excellent
"Excellent stay staff was very helpful and lots to do and close to marina for pubs and restaurants , the rooms could definitely do with being updated tho esp bathroom
But overall would go back"
"Really enjoyed our stay here. Staff were very nice, pool and spa were lovely and food was good. My only complaint about the room would be that the bed was too hard.
The hotel is on a steep hill so if, like me, you have health issues you'll need to get a taxi back from the centre of Torquay."
"Due to a wedding in the property, which we were not warned about (apparently Hotel can't contact Expedia customers), we got very little sleep. Some of the wedding guests decided to have their own party/social event between 2:30 AM - 5:30 AM meaning we got virtually no sleep. Rang reception to inform them of the noise at 3.45am. They told us they couldn't do anything and to ask for financial compensation when we checked out in the morning.
Such a shame as the room was beautiful and we were upgraded. Unfortunately we were upgraded to a room which was noisier above the smoking area! The guests also left shoes and other rubbish around the hotel which we noticed in the morning going to breakfast."
"This was our first time in this hotel how lovely.
Check inn was easy but not given a lot of information.
The lifts were used by your key card excellent.
The room was absolutely lovely fresh, clean, airy.
The shower bathroom was wonderful.
Bed was super comfy as were the pillows.
Had a meal in the evening after going out it was fantastic beautiful area and wonderful staff especially Amy she was so friendly and helpful very professional.
Had breakfast so good.
Car park £15 the stay was great.
Only down point was checking out the lady was great but the gentleman who booked us in had made mistakes and made her job hard, our check out a very long process and a queue formed behind us.
We will definitely stay again wonderful."
