"What a beautiful, intimate, quaint cottage and only 10 minutes from the vineyards. Helen was the most lovely host, very knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. It was so peaceful and it felt like we were stepping into a cottage in the rolling hills of England. "Elegant room. Jetted spa bath leaked but didn’t impact our stay. Bed mattress was a bit soft for my liking but I’m sure others like it, just wasn’t very supportive. TV offered stream play from photo to tv, however was extremely laggy and unwatchable when we tried. Staff were lovely and grounds were picturesque."

"We did enjoy our stay there at the lane retreat in hunter valley, however, I should mention something I didn’t quite like. I did write to them that my girlfriend is allergic to pumpkin seeds or pepitas and the granola we were given for breakfast had lots of them. I would have appreciated if someone have read the message and maybe picked a different type of granola or musli for us. I had to pick out every pumpkin seeds of the whole bag so she could eat too. Apart from that we loved everything in there and would come back 100 percent"

"For a motel, this was such a pleasant surprise, modern, clean and well equipped. The only negative (that didn’t warrant a reduction in rating) was only one chair outside on the patio! I did scout the neighbours and managed to ‘obtain’ a second chair so we could sit outside and enjoy a nightcap!!!"

"This is the 3rd year staying here in October for my sons golf tournament. Got to see the owner around again. Well done to Dr Schwartz! Everything is clean and well maintained. There some amenities that were low, but as soon as we notified housekeeping it was all provided quite quickly. Even though i prefer carpet, love the new floorboards they put in. Place looks so refreshed. Kids activities were still the fav! Train rides, jumping castle and love the water park. Breakfast is always so good with all the options. Loved the pastries and so many options with eggs. Thank You Rydges we will probably be back again next year."

"An aging property that leans on its Brewery and Restsurant. Stayed in a 2 bedroom and it was nothing more than a cabin. Animals were there but hardly a farm. Plenty to do during day around the property-just got to book it all in. Staff were very helpful with everything we asked."
