Don’t stay if you have allergies

Our room, oppposite the front door, smelt of dampness and mould. Bathroom was not clean and mould was visible on the floor. The towels were thin and very old. The owner was not present on site and we had to ask for the provision of milk and breakfast supplies. What a disappointment!

nice

just what we were looking for is dog friendly bit muddy out side but very comftable their are no staff as such the pub a short walk away is the pump on the green dose great meals is very friendly

Much potential - needs some attention

Chose because looked good on website however did see some older reviews with negative reviews. and had expected issues would all be sorted. Property is difficult to find using sat nav so good that the owner sent directions following booking confirmation. We were told to ring anytime and when we did had a defensive response initially. Property has great potential however seems a strange mix of lodgers and those holidaying. Room was spacious, however had damp in one wall and we ended up with colds after our 2. Might stay. Shower wouldn't drain and needed a good clean - especially as there were 7 people sharing it during our stay. To lord wouldn't flush consistently. For a shared bathroom with many rooms, this was really not good!! Loved the look of the building and kitchen was good, however we did not feel common lounge was easily shared as fellow boarding there seemed to see it as his space. Wouldn't recommend for price/ location.

lovely place!!

really peaceful area, the house was well equipped, clean and tidy and also very spacious the lady who owns the house was really friendly, welcoming and helpful would recommend anyone to stay here!

Facts to know before you book

I will not rate this stay bad, but it was not a good choice for my family. To let other people know, when you book the top floor, there is no door between the children's rooms and the rest of the hotel. You just put a screen up at the bottom of the stairs. We wanted a bit more security for our family. Also, we didn't know what to do when we got to the hotel as the manager isn't around. We walked into what looked like someone's empty home and just happened to bump into another guest. The guest informed us that the manager leaves us an email the day before. We were miles from home, so we hadn't checked it to know. On the plus side, there was plenty of room and the house was clean and comfortable, just know that privacy might be an issue and to check your email right before you arrive.

A nice base to visit Pembrokeshire and parts of co

We booked in for 7 night's which was unusual,but used it as a central base to explore Pembrokeshire coastline,as well as some internal sites. It is an unusual set up. The landlords don't live at the premises, but were available by phone. A lovely local lady comes into clean, and was able to recommend local walks etc. The "breakfast"part is totally self service - cereal and toast. It was clean and roomier than it looks on the photos. The owners allowed us access to the kitchen to cook evening meals -very much appreciated. Absolute brilliant value for the money you are paying. First review I've ever written as I am not an experienced traveller. From my experience, I would recommend it strongly .

Overnight stay from Fishguard

As we were on the late evening ferry from Rosslare, we were delighted that the proprietor stayed up to welcome us (about 0100 hours). The accommodation was spacious and clean; however, the absence of 'en suite' detracted from the experience and breakfast was a 'help yourself' tea, coffee and toast.

Lovely clean and new

Had a very pleasant stay in December for one night. The hotel was very clean, lovely and airy. We had a GIANT bed and an ensuite which was all very clean. There were tea and coffee making facilities. There are also kitchen facilities so may suit people who want to do some self-catering. Wifi was available. Very comfortable indeed and a bargain for the price. Really not much around Spittal though and you need to be able to drive to get to Haverfordwest. However, the owner does not seem to be on site and that was a bit disappointing as we could not say Hello or thank you. Definitely would consider staying here again.
