"An absolutely superb hotel in an idyllic and very quiet location. We stayed in the Wall Room, which is probably one of the largest rooms we've ever stayed in, ideal when travelling with a dog. Some reviews are critical but do bear in mind this is an 18th century Grade II listed former coach house in the middle of nowhere!
The food was a tad on the expensive side, with limited choice, but you get what you pay for! What we did eat was excellent and all freshly prepared and cooked by a proper chef. Yes, there is no proper 'bar' per se, but we just took/bought our own and sat in the courtyard overlooking the wonderful grounds. Just take a cool bag with lots of ice blocks which the staff are happy to freeze for you, plus they'll provide plenty of ice!
We were blown away by the helpfulness of the staff. A big shout out to Karen, Corrine and Anya who couldn't have been more accommodating to our needs. The other staff were also great, thank you.
If you're looking for somewhere to stay more on the remote side (not really walking distance to any local towns or pubs), then I highly recommend Slebech Park. You could walk for miles around their 650 acres of land.
We will definitely be returning and a big thanks to all the staff once again for helping to make our few days away very special."
