This was without doubt the best B & B we have ever stayed in. There really is nothing I can add to the excellent rating I have given this hotel. Even the food is all locally sourced which is something I feel is really important. Thanks to Debbie and her team for th Is wonderful stay. HOping to book your holiday cottage in the future for a special family occasion.

Country calm

After the crazy of Edinburgh, our stay at Colterscreech House was an interlude of calm. We were greeted by the owner as if we were long lost family come home at last. The bed was I think the most comfortable one we had in all of Scotland. The home is beautiful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this B&B to anyone.

Comfortable beds and delicious breakfast!

We loved our stay here. It's nice and quiet, but easy to find off the main road. Everything was very clean, with delightful touches like tea fixings in the room and daily replacement of biscuits to go with them. The breakfast was absolutely delicious; fresh eggs from the owners' hens, Scottish porridge, jams made by "Mum." The only drawback is that it's a little out of the way, not quite centrally located among the Borders towns and abbeys that make this area so interesting to visit. It is, however, very close to the Hermitage Castle which is well worth visiting.

An Excellent Find

We had a super 2 night stay at Colterscleuch House. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The house and rooms are beautiful and clean. The breakfasts were excellent and there were plenty of little extra touches which made for a very pleasant stay.

A very pleasant place to stay.

We felt welcome from the minute we arrived. The owners were extremely pleasant and helpful and only wished to make our stay as good and comfortable as possible.

This is the most extraordinary B&B ever!

I have never felt so serene and peaceful and taken care of as I did when staying at this beautiful and relaxing home! The host made me feel so welcome to Scotland and extended her gracious, kind, and hospitable abode to me, something I'll always remember and long to come back for. Straight Excellence

From the home made jams and fresh eggs breakfast to the large, elegant room with the most comfortable bed and puffy quilts, and the large bathroom. Then it's topped off with the warm welcome we received when we arrived even though it was late and the chit chat in the morning with the owners - I HIGHLY recommend it! I truly love this place and everything it represents, and we will definitely come back and will encourage anyone we know who is going to this area to stay here. So far on our one month journey through Europe to celebrate our 30 anniversary, this place has the most romantic feeling. I love it!

Home from home

Our stay was extremely relaxing. We were met by our lovely friendly hostess who couldn't do enough to ensure we were comfortable. Although out in the country it was easy to find as we had been sent step by step pictures of the road and turn off to take, very welcome, we had also been given helpful information and numbers of local restaurants. The breakfast was wonderful, all local produce, their own eggs collected that morning and home made preserves all from their own fruit. Would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

autism friendly

they just cant do enough for you they were just so nice i have 2 children with autism my oldest said when can we go back its like a home from home the kids loved it the breakfast is lovely they are well and truly worth the money its like the hilton in a b and b
