"A lovely hotel convenient location. Breakfast was excellent with an extensive hot buffet service. My only gripe would be the disabled parking. They do have spaces right next to the door but there are no signs, except on the floor. We were blocked in by a very inconsiderate driver who claimed he didn't know it was disabled parking. Also the other space had a car in it with no displayed disabled badge. Perhaps a sign on the post infront of the parking spaces would be good asking for badges to be displayed or face a fine etc. We had to wait until the manager could locate the person responsible so we could even get into our car."
The Red Lion at Hellidon

"The Red Lion is a convenient place to stay in a lovely village. Dinner at the pub is great. Rooms are comfortable if a little small but it is a very old pub so that's ok. Rooms can be warm on a warm night and our room overlooked an outdoor seating area where three people were talking until very late - perhaps to be expected in a pub. Overall very clean except for the doors in the accommodation corridors which really do demand some additional cleaning on hand touch areas. The most disappointing thing was the completely impersonal key in a box departure and no real breakfast on weekdays. For some reason, despite providing full breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, on weekdays a so-called 'continental breakfast' of very ordinary sweet pastries and sweet mini cereal boxes and sweet mini yoghurts is provided with bottled juice. By comparison, we had enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at another place nearby the day before where the very friendly owners provided multiple fresh fruits including berries, fresh juices, multiple muesli choices and fresh eggs and bacon. The Red Lion breakfast and morning friendliness by comparison was really at a disappointing level. We would recommend that the Red Lion should reconsider its approach to weekday breakfasts."

"Staff are absolutely fantastic,it is what it is a b+b, biggest disappointment was breakfast...no cooked food or cold meats or cheese,a dry hamper of biscuits and some sort of waffles,great Chinese on site very reasonable prices and food great had to wait 20 mins as so many ordering, would I stay again? Breakfast was the killer sorry no"

"We adored our stay and wish we had more time to spend here. What a wonderful country setting in a traditional B &B. Beautiful chapel views from our room which also overlooked a sweet field with sheep. We were welcomed at the door and bid goodbye personally. The cooked to order breakfast was wonderful and thoughtfully prepared and laid out. We would love to return if we are lucky enough to do so. True gem!!! Suzie and Wes from Oregon."
