Had a lovely room with a perfect view! Loved our one night stopover. We didn’t opt for breakfast as we aren’t really breakfast people so can’t comment on this. The guy on the reception was lovely and helpful. I would recommend and would stay again.

Gorgeous stopover

We booked the big suite which had gorgeous view out over the sea from both windows. The room itself was lovely and big. We enjoyed both the bath and the shower. Breakfast next morning was good. The owners were very helpful storing our bikes.

Lovely family run B&B

Being run as a B&B currently. Lovely room, but had some issues with hot water. Owners very responsive to that and extremely friendly

A very warm welcome. The hotel is in a beautiful location but is a bit tired. However it is gradually being refurbished. Our room was very comfortable and warm. Breakfast was excellent with everything freshly cooked. We would definitely stay here again.

Friendly new hosts, worth a stay

Stayed here at start of NC500 trip. Hosts made us most welcome and were super friendly. The views were excellent and room was nice. It snowed whilst we were there so it was a little cold in common areas. The hosts have recently taken over and are working hard to modernise. We will stay again. Enjoyed a pint in the cosy bar in front of the fire.

Location near the sea

Owners are working hard to upgrade the facility. Very friendly and nothing was a problem. Nice breakfast, but there is an extra fee.

Perfect location and friendly 'host'. Recently been taken over and will improve further. Room fine with beautiful views. Host gave excellent advice on what to see and where to go locally. Good friendly atmosphere in the bar. Breakfasts really good and suitable menu range of dinners. Would not hesitate in recommending it and we shall return next time we are in the vicinity. John Hall

Has Character

Fairly typical old Scottish house hotel that has bags of character but is showing its age in many ways eg plumbing, Bed very soft - not good if you have any back problems.

Not as good as our last stay. Combination of no longer having breakfast included in the room rate seems to be a mistake from the owners. Price point equivalent adds an ok breakfast at the same overall price so adds value when dining out options are limited locally. Service was a bit unique and not representative of previous visit just a few weeks ago. Would implore the owners to revisit their model as we wouldn't stay here and pay a premium for an albeit great breakfast again when we are only looking for a bed for the night and can pay half the price to stay elsewhere. Shame, as our last trip was great, but we won't be back. Give them a go though and I'm sure you will enjoy the place. Despite its age the owners are slowly refurbing and refreshing which gives it great charm but if you are price focused, broaden your search area.
