"Hallways were dirty, food and garbage scattered all over. Everything smelled of cigarettes or weed. Poorly made media center was tipping so the drawer would not close, my husband hit his shins on it on the way to the bathroom. Bath tub and sink were stained. Couch had a huge hole. Sheets were rough, mattress was lumpy, towels were very small. No soap or shampoo in the shower. Water pressure was low. There’s a leak somewhere in the bathroom so floor was wet. Check-in staff was fine, check-out staff avoided eye contact and ignored me. "
"Everything at this hotel was good. We have stayed here a few times and not disappointed in all of the places around if that are very close (restaurants, shopping, coffee shops). There is only one thing I was not happy about and that was that Hotels.com emailed an invoice to me for 2 rooms, one night and the price was $299 or $150 each for the room. That was so very wrong our room was $66 each for the night. Get your act together Hotels.com"
"We only stayed 1 night. Our room had ink stained sheets. The toilet in the bathroom had broken bolts, so entire toilet moved. The staff member we told seemed to not think the broken toilet was a large concern. The bathroom only had about 1/4 roll of toilet paper left and no additional roll in the room.
No elevator in this hotel (3 floors). Be mindful of that..we had heavy luggage and did not know."
"This hotel is run on the bare minimum. In 3 days I only saw 2 people working there, and a third when I checked out. When checking in, the desk attendant seemed to be sleeping in the lobby. The bedding on the king bed were queen size. I don't know what all the wiring and connectors were that were in an open box nex to the TV, but I've never seen anything like it out in the open in a hotel room. Everything looked old and worn. The breakfast was practically non-existent. The apple juice was almost completely water with just a bit of juice mixed in. The lids for coffee cups were not the right size to fit properly so you couldn't even take a cup of coffee to go. I have stayed in AmericInns on a number of occasions and generally the experience has been good. But, I will not be staying at this one on my next trip to the Council Bluffs area. However, I suspect that will not be a decision I will have to make because I can't imagine this place will be open much longer."
