"The booking service lost one of my two reservations, even after confirming with them the day before. We finally did get a second room after being told there was only a room to accommodate one night. I don't understand the room rates. The double queen bed room was less than the single queen bed by about $50 for a two night stay.
The double queen room I occupied: 1. The beds are too high especially for shorter people or folks who are chronologically challenged 2. We had no refrigerator but we did have a coffee maker 3. There was no chair, only a small stool 4. There was no bench or luggage rack, we had to put our suitcases on the bed. 5. No closet for hanging clothes but had about a half dozen hooks on the wall behind the door 6. The shower was enormous-shower only no tub-it had an integrated seat but there were not safety bars and the floor seemed very slick-need some non skid appliques. However, the room was pristine and we met some folks onsite doing some maintenance and cleaning and they were extremely nice. The diner was not open and there was no breakfast on site. I loved the close proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the charm of the roadside inn with firepit, picnic tables and is pet friendly."
"This Hotel is very much guest focused. From the unique Floyd area themed rooms to the attentive staff, your stay will be memorable. A short walk to shops and dining makes this a perfect getaway destination."
"The staff were absolutely great, quick to get us settled and made sure we knew exactly where our room was, and so sweet when had to ask for batteries for the remote.
It's obvious it's an older motel but the owners are working hard to make it look good. We were in a section they had not quite gotten to yet so we had to only take showers as the tub ran water through the shower and the faucet. There were water stains on the inside and outside of the bathroom door, there were a couple if holes in the wall, and it was a little cramped for 3 adults but all in all nice.
The air conditioner worked a little to well for my liking but my travel companions were loving it.
Only issue we really had is the trash wasn't picked up the first day and we weren't sure if we were supposed to put it out the door or if we should just continue the way we were."
"The Early Inn is an ante-bellum plantation house, with a wide expanse of lawn in the front and surrounded by trees. Very beautiful! We were greeted by Stacy (sp?) who showed us around the house, instructed us on the use of the keyless entries before taking us to room. She offered to carry our small suitcases but that wasn't necessary. We stayed in the Magnolia Suite, a beautifully appointed room with wallpaper befitting its style and antique furniture. The ensuite had a double bowl sink and an oversize shower with three different shower heads from which to choose. There was also a nice sized soaking tub. Coffee, tea, and cold beverages were available as were snacks. Within walking distance was a great restaurant, Rocky Mount Burger Restaurant serving not just burgers but a wide variety of sandwiches. We had the Ruebens and were not disappointed. Excellent! Right across from that is The Harvester, the music venue where we saw Big, Bad Voodoo Daddy. Across from that is the Saturday Farmers Market. It's not exceptionally large but has a wide variety of produce, baked goods, and other local crafts. Many more stores were available if you continued your walk down the street. This place is well worth staying there and convenient to all you might need within walking distance. I recommend it without reservation."
