"Not one thing it was the worst experience and stay I have ever had. I kid you not my granddaughter when we first drive up sees a little jungle gym. She begs me to go over I said sure before we even get into the hotel. There are bugs everywhere. Then there are two portable fire pits. It looks like someone had tried to burn a cover of a sofa. The pieces were everywhere. I told her that we could not go back. We have not even got into our hotel room when someone is coming up to us and saying did you call for toilet paper. I said I have not even been into the room and someone comes out of their hotel that was us. We get into the hotel room and I turned to my daughter and said we cannot stay here with the girls. I walked into the bathroom bugs everywhere the floor is molded out. My granddaughter had a cold and I was worried the mold would cause her to get worse. We saw that the policy is that we can only cancel the day before we arrived. So I said ok girls get your swim suits on we are out of here. We stayed at the lake as late as we could. We went back only to sleep and even then my daughter put a chair under the knob the person that gave us the key did not sounded like he only spoke Russian. We had no idea if we were even safe. We could not turn off the airconditioning. I had a hard time sleeping because we only had a very thin top cover and sheets. We could not turn off the air. Again we stayed away all day saturday and left on sunday as soon as we got up."
"Ours was a quick overnight stay. It was dark when we arrived and dark when we left. We enjoyed a soak in the hot springs, and had everything we needed to prepare for our next day's activities. I think this would be a great place to bring the grandkids back to."
"Okay, I won’t lie, I was a bit scared when I pulled into the driveway. The exterior is poorly rundown. I thought oh dear God, Bates Motel! But then I went in. The lobby was pleasant and the staff very sweet. Wish the ice machine was working…anyway. I didn’t read that the room I had was in the basement, nor that the three bathrooms downstairs were shared bathrooms. I almost reconsidered staying there but it was late and I didn’t have many other options.
I was pleasantly surprised by my room. It was very clean, had a small fridge, a space heater and a box fan, no A/C but the room was cool. The bathrooms were spacious and had a huge walk-in shower. The basement turned out to be just fine. I imagine it is like a hostel? Not that I really ever plan on going to Soda Springs again, but I’d possibly stay there again. It was all an adventure.
The Soda Springs Geyser was incredible!"
