"The apartment hotel is a new building in a suburban residential area. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a good restaurant called Brothers nearby which serves gyros and other Greek meals and is frequented by locals. There is a mini mart and a couple of bakeries as well on the same street. "I had a lovely solo stay at Maria Rousse! It was clean and quiet at the hotel with only a few minutes walk to the Malia strip which leads to Malia beach! All the hotel staff were very pleasant and friendly! It was never any issue getting a sun lounger by the pool! The food at the bar was very tasty especially the Cretan breakfast which I ate most mornings! I also highly recommended the bars cocktails! "
