Majority of staff very friendly. It is pricey, borderline ridiculous especially the cafe and buffet. Was told that they have no local competition so can charge as much as patrons willing to pay.
We attended an event at the theatre, and ate a delicious dinner at the Pines Steakhouse, so we wanted to stay on property. The rooms are nice, but they’re really overpriced for the quality and size. We would travel there more often if the rooms were reasonably priced, since we also spending $$$$ on entertainment and food.
I had not been here before and expected a dirty, smoke filled place and instead, it was elegant and the staff is very attentive. The amenities were lovely and the parking was easy. I loved my room.
Very nice hotel/casino. Seems like it is in like new condition. Staff are excellent. Rooms are clean and very nicely appointed. Tiniest complaint with the noise from the A/C but it worked very well. We went to a concert while there and the facility was spotless, sound was excellent and again the staff ws exceptional
Staff are all very well trained. They are all customer service oriented. We came for the Tom Jones concert and stayed one night. The room was comfortable, the pool was spotless, and the casino was smoke free. All the way around, we had a very positive experience.
The food was great at both restaurants we dined at. but staff was very inefficient. Its difficult to get in restaurants without a reservation, the casino is on two floors and its very difficult to navigate, and we had a pool view room and they played extremely loud music until 12:00 a.m. at the pool. The front desk staff was very efficient, personable, and even gave us a personal escort to our room. Our room was beautiful, but didnt care for the espresso coffee. But bottom line for Yaamava is $1,000.00 per night for a room is outrageous! We wil not be going back.
We traveled here for a concert at the theater and we do not gamble so we are rating it from a hotel standpoint. Pros: it’s extremely clean everywhere you go. The bed was the best I’ve ever slept in in a hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, most were willing to walk you to your destination. The theater was outstanding, very comfortable with fantastic view and sound. Pool area was very nice and accommodating. I can’t say enough about how great the staff and service are. In room dining options were very good.
Cons: Very expensive for what it is. Single sink very small vanity made it difficult for my wife and I to get ready. There was also only one plug in outlet in the room made it difficult to charge phones. Temperature control in the room was very difficult and would never cool off seemed like 70 was as low as it would cool off too, it was too hot at night. Casual dine in seating options were very limited with ridiculous wait times. The steak house was good though. The casino is extremely difficult to navigate and signs are not helpful at all, it’s just too over stimulating and we probably won’t go back for a concert for this reason.
We did stumble across a VIP access area upstairs which was outstanding, food and drinks options were great and staff was fantastic. This area should be available for guest just staying for concerts.

The hotel is top notch. It is very clean, the beds are extremely comfortable, and the decor is impeccable. They could use more trash cans in the bathrooms however.
The casino is above average. It is very loud which we didn’t like. There aren’t a lot of standalone video poker machines which was disappointing. All are on the first floor or at the bars. The variety of games is ok, but not great. It’s great that it’s non-smoking. I will overlook the video poker limitations because of the non-smoking situation. The food court is next to the video poker section so the smell of Asian food is a strong and a little gross. I’d move the video poker section to avoid putting people off from the smell.
The Pines Steakhouse is above average but not great. The service is outstanding, the food is above average but the cost is outrageous. $60 for an 8 ounce filet with no sides is overpriced in my book. $14 for a baked potato is a bit much as well. Dinner for four was $500 (with tip). I didn’t think it was worth it.
We got upgraded to a suite which was fabulous. However, their website says they tier match but they wouldn’t tier match us. We were Diamond at Barona and they wouldn’t match us. They need to change their website then because it doesn’t list which CA casinos that they tier match and we found this very misleading.
That’s the pros and cons of Yaamava in my assessment.
We got upgraded to a suite and it was beautiful. We stayed the night for the Marilyn Manson concert and enjoyed the pool, clubs and gambling. The staff spoiled us with snacks and turn down service. Only complaint would be the food. We weren’t aware that you need reservations for the buffet so we had to eat at the food court which was horrible. We ordered room service for breakfast and it was absolutely awful. The whole place and staff were excellent.
