AC definitely did not get cold. Ceiling fan did not work either, we were given a box fan at least. I’d say the pictures of the property on Expedia were a little generous for the quality of the room we had. We seemed to be the only ones there the night we stayed and if that is the best room available with a poorly working ac unit and non functional fan I wouldn’t want to see the other rooms. Staff was friendly though. The room was musty, but it is the Hilo side of the island and it is wet all of the time.

We really enjoyed our stay, everything was so comfortable. It was spacious, clean, we found the kitchenette useful, well stocked, great to prep meals to save money. Location is my favorite part of Hilo.

This is our second stay at Arnott’s Lodge and we will definitely be back again! We appreciate the kind and helpful staff, all the amenities we need, and the location can’t be beat! We travel with kids and it is great for all ages. It would be a safe and comfortable for single travelers.

Super friendly staff. It's a no frills sort of place-but so homey and sweet. Our family suite was a great size. Working A/C and great to have a kitchen. No TV in the room, but we weren't there to be inside all day-the beach is where it's at. The beach that you can walk to was so perfect for my family. Really enjoyed our stay.

The Attendant at check in was very efficient and thorough in showing the common area and room. I thought the room was very clean and comfortable. It was quieter than I expected. Within a short walk to a nice rocky shoreline. It totally met our expectations as a budget accommodation choice
