Wi-Fi in the bush is actually a miracle as we have no land lines in the area. We also have to contend with lightning strikes and baboons breaking antennas. Be that as it may we have invested heavily in a total revamp of the Wi-Fi system and now we offer free Wi-Fi throughout your stay in every room!

It is our main objective that our visitors enjoy their stay at Elandela Lodge - thank you for a great review!

Tips are voluntary but the only way for the staff and guests to have a clear transparent tip system is to write it down in such a way that all parties know the hard earned tip money ends up with the correct staff members. The majority of our guests understand that the recognition is more important than the amount and the name list clearly shows that the staff is a team!

Thank you for your review. River View swimming pool has a deck with 12 sun chairs. Yes, we offer set menus and the quantity is what our average guest finds sufficient - as you did - to ask for as many repeat plates as you desire.

It is unfortunate that you have placed management in this unpleasant position simply because you did not comply with your agreement to lock your money in the safe provided and instructed at check in. You did not describe to us that your bags were overturned. You informed management that you were missing a few bills from the tiny folders containing money bills inside 5 different suitcases. Subsequently we have researched many reviews on this website and have read that world wide establishments have the same mod us-operandi as us to answer this situation. In fact I read of a guest at a Maldives Hotel who were made to stop his meal and go back to his room to lock money that the staff found unattended in the room, in the safe. Management have full trust in our staff as we have had only the three similar sounding incidents, as captured on these pages in Portuguese, in all the decades of operation. É lamentável que você tenha colocado a gerência nessa posição desagradável, simplesmente porque você não cumpriu seu acordo de trancar seu dinheiro no cofre fornecido e instruído no check-in. Você não nos descreveu que suas malas foram derrubadas. Você informou à administração que estava faltando algumas contas das minúsculas pastas que continham notas de dinheiro dentro de cinco malas diferentes. Posteriormente, pesquisamos muitas revisões neste site e lemos que os estabelecimentos de todo o mundo têm o mesmo modus operandi que nós para responder a essa situação. Na verdade, li sobre um hóspede de um Hotel das Maldivas que foi obrigado a parar a refeição e voltar ao seu quarto para guardar dinheiro que a equipe encontrou desacompanhada no quarto, no cofre. It is always uplifting to read that our guests have experienced the photo safari dream that they have visited Elandela for!

As per instruction from our Hotel Federation and the law of our land no medicines may be handed to guests by hotels - you have to visit a doctor in Hoedspruit 30 km away to get a proper diagnosis. You were welcome to change guide vehicles and inform me of any complaints during your stay as it is still our objective to have all our guests enjoy their photo safaris!

Sir, you are not telling the truth. The moment you informed me about missing money I phoned the police and confronted the employees that you indicated were responsible for the disappeared $200 - all in your presence. I told you that this claim of theft was extremely serious and I acted quickly to find your missing money. Your responsibility is to put your money into the safe we provide in each room. You cannot expect of me to force employees to admit to theft when they deny it and you did not want to wait for the police. The moment you reported missing money your friend also reported missing money from deep in your suitcases. Included free for every day every guest has two bottles of water or orange juice. Elandela Lodge is definitely not a "todo incluido drink as much as you want" establishment. We specifically tell every guest at check in to put money in the safe in order to avoid such unhappy endings to an African safari.

Thank you for your good rating. Every room has coffee and tea and a kettle to make coffee at 5h30 to leave on the 6h00 game drive. Every person is offered coffee or tea and a biscuit during the early morning game drive which ends at 9h00. 9h00 to 10h00 every morning is a breakfast with fruit, cereals, bread, jam and eggs to order. Every morning eggs are served with a different warm meat - pork or chicken sausage or bacon or meat balls. Every mornings full breakfast offers eggs to order of any type you desire. You can merely ask if you need more food. Surely you cannot say you asked and it was refused?
