"Arrived around 6pm the receptionist was friendly and helpful. We had room 135. Top floor city view , up many many narrow stairs. The bathroom was huge with a big corner bath , walk in shower, double sinks and toilet was in a hidden recess, there was a hairdryer and two nice big bathrobes also. Absolutely spotless clean. Maybe just a little dated. The room itself had 2 narrow single beds a small sofa and some vintage furniture and lamps, it was also spotless clean and good size. No rail for hanging clothes though. Little noise from the street but no noise at all from inside the hotel in the evening. Breakfast room is lovely, very nicely set with candles, fresh flowers and tablecloths. The small buffet breakfast was very fresh. Good options and small quantities, we had bread and honey , the bread was fresh and delicious 😋. The outside area was nice, we had a look but didn't sit out. We did see a few cute dogs outside. The second night we arrived back late after a concert and found there to be a lot more noise from the street which would be expected with many people in town but managed to sleep we. Breakfast second morning was the same. The morning receptionist was also lovely and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel it was perfect. 5 minute walk from the Vrijhof , I chose it for this reason. There were also plenty shops cafes and sights in the same area."
"My family and I had a wonderful stay! The hotel was very clean, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they made us feel right at home. The rooms were on the smaller side, but that’s quite typical for Europe and they had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Overall, it was a great experience, and we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!"
"I am so glad I chose The Social Hub Maastricht for my stay in this fantastic, beautiful city. The staff at this hotel are so engaging, friendly, helpful and personable. The main lobby is a bar and coffee shop with tables and chairs one can use for any purpose (I did a lot of blogging on my computer here) There is also a ping-pong table and a piano (which I played - it needs tuning!) The hotel captures such great social energy. Lest anyone worry that this is a 'party hotel' or that there is any level of noise that rises up to the rooms, fear not. My room was very quiet, comfy and spacious. The location of the hotel is perfect as well. So many amenities within a short walking distance here. The Sphinx Passage is connected to the back of the hotel as well - this is a gallery that displays Maastricht's ceramics/porcelain history in pics, tiles and displays of serving ware. (It's free) Part of the neon sign from the Sphinx ceramics company is now in the Social Hub Lobby - it spells out 'Sanitair' which is related to Sphinx's production of sinks and toilets. (I noticed the sinks and toilets were all marked 'Sphinx' in the hotel) When I return to Maastricht - and I will - I will definitely be staying here again."
"The hotel was modern with small but clean rooms and a good location. Bathroom setup with tub & separate shower plus additional toilet room was nice, but with the sofa bed made, there wasn't anywhere to leave our luggage. The kids play area in the lobby, kids' check gift & a large breakfast buffet was very nice extra for the kids. The bar was opened late for the world cup game, which Germany won - definitely a great way to end the day."
"The hotel location is prime, near central Aachen city hall and the cathedral.
It is a “no-friills” hotel, but that was ok and as expected.
The rooms are neat and clean and the beds are comfortable.
Excellent AC in rooms.
The bathroom was very basic with little shelf space, but it was clean and acceptable.
Did not try the breakfast buffet since I did not pay for in advance and the staff at the desk said they required advance purchase “so they can make enough bread”.
I did see another staff member allow another family to pay same day on the following day.
The vending machines in the lobby were well stocked w sodas, beer and snacks, but that is the only food available on site, aside from brunch.
We would stay here again for location, value, cleanliness, but not if looking for a memorable European hotel experience."
