Location is good to see the aurora borealis unfortunately it was raining that night that we stayed overnight so got no chance to see it. I love the country vibe and the good view of the 2 or 3 glacier tongue. Everything was good except for our bathroom tiles which is slightly elevated from the others.

Guesthouse Lilja was comfortable and conveniently located for our visit to Hofn and the surrounding areas. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was basic but sufficient and included in the price. We would definitely stay again!

Very disappointed, the roads were closed due to snow I tried reaching out numerous times and got no responses. I then reached out to support for them to help they tried to reach out by phone and got no response also. Very upset with the whole situation.

We hired a rental car and the windscreen got cracked severely and we were told it was unsafe to travel. I contacted the hotel twice to tell them what had happened and i received no response at all from them. I understand the booking was non refundable but to not even reply and help re-organise an already very stressful situation is totally lacking in customer service

Ficamos na parte antiga do Hotel, que não tem a mesma comodidade da parte nova. O quarto deixou um pouco a desejar. O atendimento e café da manhã foram bons. I was very frustrated with the leaking floor in the bathroom that had water squirting up from the seams between the floor tiles. Also, a huge irritant was the motion sensor light in the bathroom. It went on and off at will - not turning on when entering the room frequently and then turning off while in the room. This was a real issue when using the toilet or taking a shower. It turned on when no one was in the room.

Great communication from management by email. Able to access luggage storage for early arrivals. Room is small and there are not toiletries supplied. Pros: easy access from #1, clean rooms, lots of electrical outlets in the room, comfortable bed, includes breakfast. Cons: noisy with thin walls, can hear people dragging furniture, no light switch to bathroom and sensor kept triggering it in and off thru the night, broken door jamb where you had to lock it with difficulty to at least ensure it’s closed, large bay window in bedroom offers zero privacy, curtains do not span the entire window, leaving gaps, if you’re unlucky enough to face the parking lot, you’ll have bright lights on all night, internet is slow and spotty, kicks you out frequently. We didnt find the restaurant food to be good at all - had lamb soup (pieces too big and chewy or gristle-y), lagostine soup (fine) and chicken Caesar salad (disgusting- weirdly spiced chicken, brown lettuce, bottled sauce, boxed croutons). Breakfast was continental with a few pastries, meats, cheeses, breads (just ok). Very pricey, even for this country, for what you get. Tip: get a room in the 2nd building and face the road! Don’t spend more than 1 night.

The room was simple and clean with everything we needed. The towels are small but absorbent and the water pressure was great. Parking was a plentiful and mostly affected by the rain/mud. The room was very warm with no thermostat, we could have opened the room but didn’t want to deal with the rain. We paid extra for the breakfast which was tasty. Easy check-in and check-out process! It looked a little ominous at night with the rain but felt safe just the same.
