"This is a really run-down, low-quality motel. SKIP IT!
DANGEROUS (maybe even illegal) items:
Water is scaldingly hot. The single-handle control in shower is broken, spins 360 degrees, so it's VERY difficult to avoid being burned. My wife burned her face before we knew it was broken.
There are NO smoke alarms in room.
No grab bars ANYWHERE in bathroom/shower.
The step down outside the door is almost a foot high, with no hand-hold. Very dangerous if you're not exceedingly careful. Needs another intermediate step outside door.
Deadbolt lock inop/damaged. Useless
NO ONE is on-site. No phone in rooms. Calling motel number gets only a voicemail, and a text with partial answer to questions "sometime" later.
Non-Dangerous Items/Convenience:
Needs:
Another small waste container bathroom
Extra bath mat for multi-day stay
Mat in front of sink
As I said, there is no one on site, and they don't send instructions for checkin until "just before check-in".
The basic instructions, including WHEN to expect the details, should be sent with reservation confirmation.
Very basic "Nice-to-have:"
There are almost NO amenities:
Only the tiniest sliver of soap for 3 days, no shampoo. No Kleenex.
Curtains don't cover windows.
No chair/desk anywhere, or luggage racks. Just an extremely flimsy round bedside table. No place to put suitcases.
No garment hooks in bathroom for clothes.
Some of these would be very inexpensive to address.
In any case, we will NOT be staying there again."
"Pool was a bit crowded but big and clean.
Temp on pool and hot tub good. Short toilet in room which made it hard to get up and down off of it.The breakfast was very disappointing. No potatoes and every meat and gravy made of pork. The rest was sugar and gluten. So if you are looking for anything quality to eat, skip the breakfast. No teas after 10am so unless you drink only coffee you are out of luck. Coffee was not good either. It used to be Ekberts but it has been changed to something AWEFUL. Even my husband didn't like it. For a classy place they need a better food management."
"The first room I was given had dirt between the sheets as well as something pink spilled in them. Soaked through to the mattress pad. I could tell they had not been changed. I politely asked for a set of clean sheets as I believed one of the beds had been overlooked. He said he will come change them. Then when he came down to see he agreed they were dirty and just gave me a key to a different room….SAME THING HAPPENED….one of the beds had dirt from feet and food crumbs in the sheets!! When he walked by the new room I called him in to see that bed. He agreed that it was dirty and his wife would come change the sheets. She did…AND THEN PUT THE DIRTY BLANKETS BACK ON MY BED….the room was dirty and the bathtub scary. I also woke up to a cockroach party in the bathroom, I was able to kill one of them and brought it to the office. The lady just looked at me when I told her about the condition of our room. She did offer a dismissive apology. I am sure this happens often here. I paid $80+ to sleep with cockroaches and someone’s booger (maybe poop) on the wall in front of the toilet. Bummer…."
