"I rarely leave negative reviews for independent B&Bs, but this stay was extremely disappointing.
The room I was allocated was not the room type I had booked. It was advertised as a double room but was actually two single beds pushed together, leaving an uncomfortable gap between them.
The room itself had several maintenance issues. There was a bad smell coming from the drain, the TV lost signal for most of our stay, the blind was broken and permanently stuck open, and the ground-floor window was broken and could be opened from outside, creating a genuine security concern.
What made the experience particularly frustrating was the complete lack of staff presence. I reported the issues on the first morning and was told someone would get back to me. Nobody ever did. No one inspected the room, offered an alternative, or even provided an update. In fact, staff were so absent that we only saw someone a couple of times during the entire stay.
The whole place had a strange atmosphere because there was rarely anybody around. There is supposedly a bar and kitchen on site, but these might as well not exist if there is nobody available to serve guests or assist with problems.
I appreciate that maintenance issues can happen, but ignoring guests when those issues are reported is not acceptable. The lack of customer service, combined with the poor condition of the room, meant this was not an enjoyable stay and certainly not good value for money."
