Stroll through the streets or hire bicycles and explore the area. Longer distances are best covered by bus or car. You can park your car in town for a fee or free of charge at Mauritsplein, north of the centre of Hoogeveen.
The train will get you from Amsterdam to Hoogveen in 2 hours. Hoogeveen is also easy to reach from other big cities. If you're travelling around the Netherlands by car, the city is near the A28 and easy to reach from the middle of the country.
