"The low rating is due to the worst night sleep I've had in a long time. Most of this property's issues are beyond the control of management. But the walls are paper thin, the windows are very old and not double or triple glazed thus every single sound penetrates and you feel as though you're sleeping outside. There is a train that comes through regularly all night long with train whistles. There is a church bell that tolls on the hour (I heard it at 3am, 4am, 5am, 6am and 7am)! There are various sirens of ambulances and fire trucks, and heavy trucks like garbage trucks. It is just such a loud neighborhood and not sure what can be done because the house is historic. Two things would have improved the stay: blackout curtains (there are only flimsy horizontal blinds that do not darken the room whatsoever. Also, put a mirror in one of the bedrooms (we were in the 2 bed suite) so that one can do hair and makeup while the other is showering. I will say that the accommodation was spotless, it's got a nice vibe aesthetically, the water and snacks a nice touch and check in went smoothly. Communication was good as well. But, unfortunately, I can't give it a higher rating because it was just such a terrible sleep. "
"A generally solid Residence Inn with a good breakfast. Just disappointed the pool was closed -- not sure that was indicated before I booked. Also, weird thing happened with alarm clock in our room going off in middle of night (we never touched it). Not sure what the deal was with that, but it was most unwelcome!"
Best Western Plus Kingston Hotel And Conference Center
2/10 Terrible
"There was a mystery pill found on the floor in the room. Lucky my dog didnt eat it. Still taking him to the vet. The hotel staff had nothing to say about it and even tried to take away the evidence. Also, anyone can walk in and wander around. Doors open without a key. "
"Main hotel building, including the bar and restaurant, were pleasant. Didn't eat, but the drinks were on point. Walls in the annex building, where my "half pint" room was located, are incredibly thin. Although there's a quiet policy (after 11pm as I recall), guests in adjacent rooms were up all night talking and their voices came right through the walls. It was as if we were part of their conversations. Not a minute of sleep. Hotel offered a comp though, some attempt made. "
"new hotel, people complaining about creeky floors, but guess what its a converted factory with original wood floors.
ONLY ISSUE, baths are NOT open and charging the resort fee. poor form"
