Friendly staff, lovely and clean room, comfortable bed, excellent shower, and one of the best breakfasts I can recall having. Would definitely stay again if I'm in the area.

Trouble free stay

Although the hotel and bar are struggling due to staff shortages my stay was very good. Room was excellent and the breakfast very good and all with free on site parking. I will be staying again.

Nice hotel.

Overnighted here whilst working in St Ives for a couple of days. The hotel had everything I needed (a comfy bed, a clean room and a nice breakfast included in the price). Add in a very nice sirloin steak cooked perfectly and at a really good price, what more could you ask for. If I'm ever working down Cambridge way again, I will definitely be staying here.

Very helpful staff and decent accommodation. Good food, large portions, nice beer. Basic breakfast menu. 2nd floor room, necessary to have a word about 4 things that needed attention before next client stays. Assured they would be attended to. Would stay again.

Looks unloved, room towels and bedding clean but the peeling pain in the bathroom and rusty towel rail puts you off. On the road which after 11 wasn’t too bad. Breakfast very good. Was all locked up at 9.30 when we got back to hotel, not welcoming at all

Quick stop off

Only a convenient stop off Saturday night, looked quaint from outside and that carried on inside ,not very busy, so check in quick was told food stopped at nine so ate straight away nice⁰ decent food at a reasonable price. Think they might be having problems with staff the young lad behind the bar was having to do numerous things but was very polite and informative. So nothing to fault although the bar did close at 10 although like i said earlier it was rather quiet. Nice breakfast and friendly chef after a decent nights sleep in comfy beds

Big room, comfortable bed Helpful staff as I arrived late so they phoned to give me the key code (good job I had my phone torch as couldn’t see the numbers in the dark… a light on the porch would be good) All dark when I arrived at 8.45pm and not welcoming. I get that staff were gone for the night and my key was on the desk as I was told but they didn’t leave a light on so I needed to use my phone torch, struggling with that and my bags… The room looked great but was freezing. I turned the radiator up full (it was off) but it took a few of hours to warm. There was no blanket for the bed so I was cold until about midnight. Not a great night’s sleep as a boiler/generator/something fired up every hour or so and woke me up. I had travelled for 4 hours and was exhausted. I had a busy day delivering training the following day and then a 4 hour drive home so unfortunately, this did not set me up well for the day. Tea and coffee facilities were incredibly basic and cheap too

Nobody was there when we went to book in nobody rang us to tell us the were short of staff a check in was later. We booked a double bed and got two single when my husband went to talk to them they said that’s what I had booked but I didn’t and they had no other rooms

Welcome pit stop

We received a call letting us know that they were unable to serve food during the evening which was helpful. The service throughout the stay was very good, all the staff we engaged with were friendly. The breakfast was very good. The room we were allocated was not the room shown when i booked and was not as smart looking as the one on the Hotel. Com site and all pictures online showed other rooms but not the one we stayed in. Although the bed was comfortable it could do with updating, especially the bathroom and the lighting could be better.

Brilliant Family Stay more than reasonable price

From the easy checking-in process to the high standard of room cleanliness, powerful shower and brilliant breakfast, the chef/owner was the fantastic hostess and our children loved talking with her. Will be staying again.

Great staff service

Food and facilities good. Service level was fantastic and staff very accommodating even managed to get a programme I wanted to watch. Would definitely stay again.

Good and bad

The room was rather shabby and the bathroom was not clean. Also the transfer of noise between rooms was unacceptable by today’s standards. However the staff were friendly and the breakfast was great.

It was a neccessary stay having been washed out at an attempt to put up a tent in gale force winds. It wS om for the night in their family room. There was no cold water in the toilet facility paper off the wall by the door but we were unable to stay for breakfast whch was included due to fact we gad to be back at the campsite for 8am

Great village pub with a fantastic atmosphere. Well supported by the locals good to see village pubs busy. Very welcoming and good food.
