![Hussain Sagar is a heart shaped lake in Hyderabad built by Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah in 1563, during the rule of Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah. It is spread across an area of 5.7 square kilometers and is fed by River Musi. A large monolithic statue of the Gautama Buddha, erected in 1992, stands on Gibraltar Rock in the middle of the lake. My inlaws stayed here for their trip to Hyderabad for US visa. They mentioned it was a pleasant stay and everything was close-by which was convenient. Breakfast was good with many options.

I stayed at Elite Hotel Gachibowli for my US visa interview and had a really good experience. The room was very clean, the AC worked well, and there was always enough hot water in the bathroom. The WiFi was surprisingly fast (got around 100 Mbps both download and upload). The front desk staff were polite and helpful, and room service was decent and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a clean, no-nonsense place near the consulate.
