It was perfect for us, the owner Dino was a super host and upgraded us to a better room with a terrace, had fresh new baked croissants every morning and also made us cappuchini. We also got a bucket with ice when we brought home some cava. The rooms had a very good standard and was cleaned every day! "As it is out of town - there is no easy access to the railway station at Monopoli which meant an expensive taxi ride (30 Euros) each way. The taxi's however were prompt and reliable with very courteous drivers. Very few restaurants on site other than snacks being offered at the bar areas at certain times with a little cafe within walking distance out of the site. Their buffet evening meal for 35 Euros each included wine. The bar area was lovely in the evening for a drink and a lovely view. We didn't use the spa facilities. The pool was kept immaculate and was one of the nicest we have had a hotel for a long time. There was no coffee making facilities in the room which was a disappointment, however excellent buffet breakfast with unlimited proper Italian coffee being made fresh to order and amazingly quickly by their barista!! There is now a service charge (tip) added to the cost of the hotel room so we were a little surprised this wasn't included in the original quote from Expedia. (around 200 Euros). But upon Googling it seems a new cost which is the new norm. Overall, would recommend this hotel with the caveats above. There is parking on site, but we didn't hire a car so didn't need this."

"This is a beautiful old villa set in acres of olive trees. One couldn't ask for a more tranquil setting. The hotel is brand new and is showing signs of some work to be done. The roads are pretty rough and could use some better maintenance. This is important expecially at night when driving in and out can be a bit sketchy. We stayed in the Trulla house which is a charming traditional house away a bit from the main property. Watch your head on the low stone doorways! Overall, in a year or so, once they work out the kinks this will be a wonderful property. The surrounding area is lovely as well and there are two one-star Michelin restaurants a few kilometers in either direction."

"Not a 4-star hotel, more like an apartment amongst other residential flats. Old, mouldy and terrible venue. Difficult to get to when you park the car and no one to help with bags, so you have to be prepared to climb stairs. Noisy neighbourhood, boiler makes clicking sounds and the aircon goes off and on the whole time. Forget about getting any rest here."
