"I was in need of a hotel room at relatively short notice for a basketball tournament that I was refereeing. I came across the Finger Lakes Inn as it was just a short drive away from where the tournament was being held. Nestled in the Adirondack, it is a pleasant and quaint place to stay. If you like the modern "cookie cutter" hotels this is not it. The rooms have a "cabin in the woods" feel to them, and I mean that is a very good way.
The restaurant is very pleasant and my food was excellent. I even got to visit with the chefs that prepared my meal. The bartender was great at preparing an off the menu drink and making sure my food was to my liking. The entire staff was very friendly and welcoming. It was a pleasure meeting all of them. I would absolutely stay here again the next time I'm in the area."
"We came in the off season and the place was empty. We were the only guests the entire weekend. The bar and restaurant were not open and there was no staff on site. As such there was no continental breakfast as listed. It was quiet at night and heard birds singing in the morning which was nice. The room was relatively comfortable and warm but there was a good amount of dust under the furniture. The bed was thin but firm and comfortable but there were only two thin pillows for two guests. The remotes were also missing batteries so the TV was a little challenge to navigate. Overall an okay stay. It may be quite different during Ski season or in the peak of the summer. But in May it is a ghost town that is somewhat forgotten."
"The property itself and the rooms are lovely. We arrived at supper time on friday night. Found no one on site to check us in. Had to call a phone #, which told us i should have received an email with check in information, i did not. Also i had no internet to check that. Eventually got checked in. Door code didn't work. Had to call back, have it reset from them. By this time 7 pm and no restaurant in town open. Drove to Gore Mountain ski hill, food and service was awesome. Sat went hiking returned home around 4pm. Door code again did not work. Called again, this time he called in his housekeeper, waited over 40 minutes to get new code, which only worked intermittently. Very frustrating.
On fri night had very loud guests next to us who did not quiet down until 4:30 am, but no one to call to ask for assistance with this. "
