Tuk tuk 300 rupees hiatorical town. Very hospitable and kind staff. Helped us book a taxi to the next town. Will come back. "

"We stayed six nights in a Superior Suite at Villa Elixir at the end of a three-week trip to India. Sadly, it was a disappointing experience. Our room backed onto a noisy road, the window didn’t fully close, and mosquitoes were an issue with no net provided. The pool was green on arrival, then heavily chlorinated and unusable for the rest of our stay. Breakfast was very basic (curry, fruit, slices of white bread with butter and jam, and a flask of milk-tea and coffee), the kitchen staff were unwelcoming. We ended up eating breakfast elsewhere and paying to swim at other facilities. Other problems included cold showers throughout the stay (despite reporting it), no hand towels, very harsh ceiling lighting instead of bedside lamps, and only two coat hangers with no extras available. One bedside socket didn’t work whilst the air conditioning was ok but neither particularly quiet nor effective. Laundry arrangements were disorganised, and the payment processing was unnecessarily complicated. Positives: the hotel itself appeared clean, the room was spacious with a comfortable bed and good blackout curtains, and the location is within walking distance of the beach and much of Kochi. There are pleasant seating areas, and our balcony overlooking the pool was nice. Full credit to Akshay on reception, who was always polite and tried his best to help, though he seemed unsupported by management."

"My stay at Chiramel Residency was perfect. The location is ideal with good access to plenty of nice restaurants and cafes. The room was very clean and staff were always helpful and courteous. I recommend Chiramel to anyone. Good value too!"

"Health & safety hazard – avoid Fort Beach Residence is completely unacceptable and poses a serious health and safety risk. On arrival, no basic amenities were provided (no toilet paper, towels, soap, or drinking water). Communication with staff was extremely difficult despite English being advertised. The room was filthy: dirty and stained bed linen and towels (I had to use my own), dust everywhere, ants on the walls, and a bathroom that clearly hadn’t been cleaned for a long time—dirt visibly ran down the tiles when the shower was turned on. A broken mosquito net led to insect bites. Facilities did not match the listing: no Wi-Fi, faulty toilet, no hot water during the day, and curtains that didn’t close properly. Noise continued throughout the night, and on multiple occasions people attempted to enter my locked room without knocking, which was alarming. This property should not be operating as guest accommodation in its current condition. I do not recommend staying here"

"Very basic, please do not expect any service from the staff. We didn't get hot water for both nights/mornings. When complained to staff he simply said please message the owner directly with your problem. When contacted the owner through Expedia there was absolutely no acknowledgement. "
