We have stayed here now two times and highly recommend this gem as a unique hotel experience that celebrates its history while offering a luxury experience ."

"Great place to stay in Matera. One block from the piazza and everything in the piazza including the Sassi. The rooms are not luxurious but are comfortable and very clean. Wi-Fi is very reliable and decently fast. Worked fine for everyday use and for streaming. The breakfast was very good. Nothing excessive and nothing hot. But lots of great choices from cereals, fruit, pastries, pies, cheese, bread, and meats."

"We were welcomed so warmly by a lovely gentleman named Mario. The whole staff were kind, helpful and friendly. Our room was large, clean and comfortable with beautiful views of the ravine and historic caves. Breakfast in the morning was comprehensive, fresh, and delicious. I have celiac and they provided a gluten free basket of goodies for me every morning. A lovely boutique hotel with wonderful staff, I would stay here again."

"What an amazing place to stay in Matera. Our room was a large spacious cave-style room with a private “wine cellar” down a long flight of stairs deep into the cave. The room came with everything we needed and the staff were kind and helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel when visiting Matera."
