"We booked two rooms at this property only to be told upon arrival that they had misread the booking and only were in a position to give us one room, this was due to the fact they had just sold the other room, good way of making extra money. We did ask the hotel for a return on the other rooms cost but they declined and laughed saying well at least we have one room for you. Would never use this hotel again and would advise Hotels.com to remove it from their site."

"We really enjoyed our stay. We had a balcony to our room which allowed us to chill out in the sunshine which is just what we needed due to circumstances."

"Overall on the surface of it Lough Eske looks grand and wonderful. The room I stayed in was very spacious and very clean. All the staff I interacted with were all very helpful. The breakfast was a big positive. Tasted great and the staff very attentive. When you look closer there are a number of parts of the hotel that look tired and need attention. I was particularly disappointed in the spa area. It had a number of maintenance issues such as bulbs out, loose wiring for the switches of the hydro pool and the scum on the railings was thick grey sludge. It made me not want to spend much time there. Also whilst trying to relax there was a staff member walking back and forth entering and exiting going outside looking like he was putting a delivery away. I also raised concerns as my booking details including name and telephone appeared to be part of a data breach on the hotel system as I received scam WhatsApp messages before arriving attempting to gain my credit card details. I did raise this to the hotel via email and upon arrival but my concerns were not addressed. I wouldn’t rush back to stay here again unfortunately and couldn’t recommend based on my experience."

Clayton Hotel & Leisure Club Sligo

"Beautiful large hotel with easy reach to Sligo town. It was previously a lockdown mental Institution but the clayton has turned it into a 4-star hotel with a restaurant and, spa and indoor pool. The only downside was that when we arrived in the room, the next room had young teenage kids playing football, and the noise was very off-putting as the ball smashed up against the wall. So we immediately went down to Reception and asked if we could be moved. The receptionist apologised and gave us another room, but when we got to it, it also had very young kids next door. We didn't go and complain as we knew they would eventually go to sleep, and they did, and we never heard from them again. The breakfast was good and warm, and the service was good. The staff were all very friendly"
