"This will be my favorite hotel in downtown Portsmouth! Wonderful bed, room, and gym. The pool & hot tub available, too! The location is what really makes this hotel a dream as it is downtown with all of the action. Plan to valet which adds $$."

"Overall our stay was good, but our room smelled like cat pee. I think it must have been whatever cleaning agent they used, but it was strong and distracting. However the bed was comfortable and the hotel was in a convenient location."

"Our car broke down had to wait till the morning for it to get in the shop we had no choice but to get a hotel we were very grateful that the hotel was close by. There was no deposit for the night, free morning breakfast and the rooms was very clean. This is an older hotel but they are upkeeping it well. I seen staff including managers clean in the morning and everyone i spoke to was quite nice. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. We are so grateful the hotel was clean and didnt smell funky !"

"A once-in-a-lifetime experience for us. We just wrapped up a week at Cliff House Maine and had an amazing time. The views alone are worth the trip - it's hard to beat sitting on the balcony with a coffee in the morning or a drink in the evening while listening to the ocean, and feel the ocean breeze across your face. The resort strikes a great balance between being upscale and comfortable. The rooms were clean, the grounds were beautiful, and the staff was always friendly and helpful without being overbearing. There is incredible attention to detail for every component of this property - from the interior design to the Maine stations to the "Do Not Disturb" placards, with complimentary binoculars to enjoy the views. There is no detail that was overlooked and everything curated to present the Maine experience to every guest. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway in Maine, without hesitation, I'd absolutely recommend Cliff House."

"What a wonderful location, walkable to the main town and beach. The room was clean, the beds very comfortable , the property manicured and a very nice breakfast. Will definitely be back!"

"Breakfast was good - variety of choices. Wish they offered fresh muffins. Was a little disappointed with the evening menu. Have stayed here a few times and always looked forward to the dining experience. Found the menu to be limited and basic. The restaurant staff was obviously short handed probably due to new immigration standards however the staff were readily available to help and always pleasant serving with a smile. Room was clean and appropriately decorated. Have stayed at this property many times and used to daily attention to the room. Again probably due to staff shortage. The ambience at the resort is one of tranquility and makes it impossible not to feel like you are on vacation. Overall would definitely recommend giving the Inn a chance and planned to stay again in the future"
